Score
Instanced - 16
Open world - 8
Instanced Housing:
Pros:
Enhances the overall aesthetic of the game world by preventing clutter from an abundance of player houses.
Provides a private and undisturbed environment for individual players.
Allows the option to invite friends over, fostering social interactions within the same party.
Cons:
sacrifice realism as individual housing instances might not seamlessly integrate with the game’s environment.
Limits spontaneous interactions with other players in a communal living space.
Open World Housing:
Pros:
Offers a heightened sense of realism, and contributes to a more immersive gaming environment, resembling a dynamic, living world.
Encourages spontaneous player interactions and community engagement within a shared housing environment.
Cons:
Potential for a cluttered appearance as numerous player houses populate the open world.
Increased likelihood of disturbances from other players in the shared housing space.
Note:
My other poll is still up if you haven’t voted. If you want to have player housing or not.
Open-world, or none at all. The reason: it would kill open-world RP, or at least deal it a terrible blow like it did in SWTOR. There would be no reason to interact with players out of a group, or even pretend they exist. Even despite the benefits and possibilities, such an addition would do more harm than good to the game’s social aspects.
Instanced.
WoW isn’t realy a sandbox game that is built to hold Open world housing of each player like Archeage for example , so i think Instanced is the only option here.
i don’t think open world housing can be a thing in wow. is it even a thing in other mmos ? i know it is open world in archeage but that game has way more stuff designed with it in the first place
I think you’ve hit the nail on the head with this. A feature like housing isn’t about housing itself but how all other content interacts with it. But blizzard’s policy is to isolate everything (and everyone) so they can micro manage the game experience of such a diverse audience.
Content that tries to pull all WoW players together is dead on arrival.
