Cringe 90s sitcom.
I doubt you can put more than one house on the housing plot, but perhaps you can fill your house exterior’s walls with doors and imagine them as dimensional portals… ![]()
Friends’ theme starts playing
Honestly, I have been thinking like of a library tower. ![]()
Probably something that LOOKS and FEELS like a cozy home to someone who isn’t a hoarding adventurer.
People always try to cram as much crap as they can into a room, sometimes you want a nice open air house, and not just ramshacked debris up the wazoo.
Weyrnholme Manor. As the name suggests, Rathils own manor for a home.
The idea is to have a main hall, an outdoor area (Provided I can make the ceiling look sky-like), a ballroom, dining hall, lounge area, laboratory, guest rooms, study, secret Randal Murloc Room and then the Master bedroom.
Basically I want to copy what I can of Waycrest Manor.
Preview of the housing areas:
Hope they’ll add a map with a snowy terrain in the future, as well as some proper ancient jungle/rainforest areas.
I’ll probably drop my first house somewhere in the green Elwynn parts. Wonder where others might put theirs?
Edit: here’s also alpha test development notes, includes plenty of housing details:
Considering you can upgrade the look of your house from the exterior, I really want a Gilneas styled house.
I will place mine in the Neighbourhood with the closest look to Ashenvale!
I need my Night Elf-Horde neighbourhood war!
I really like the Alliance neighbourhood. I especially like the spooky region of it.
So it turns out Furniture collection won’t function like TMOG. If you want 10 Human Chairs you must go out and farm the resources for exactly 10 Human Chairs and if you use them and want more you must go out and farm more to get them because you’ve spent the ones you had.
That’s. . .whelming. That’s very. . .whelming. I don’t really know anyone personally who wants to have to wait and do 10 runs of a raid over 10 weeks to get 10 Icecrown Citadel Spikes personally. Hoping this completely changes.

A few streamers testing out the Housing have mentioned dyes have the same system wherein you need to farm and collect the amount you want and also pray to god you never misclick on a dye.
Not sure if it was confirmed anywhere, but in the deep dive video, a friend pointed out that two people were decorating the same house, which is a pretty huge win.
According to a recent interview, the devs are aiming to enable a large number of players to interact both inside and outside the house, though there’s no specific number specified so far. Which is nice for those who’d like to host a big gathering in their house.
I wonder if getting the exact plot you want is going to be a nightmare.
The horde zone has some beachfront property for instance, will it be a bother to get the exact spot you want outside of private/guild neighbourhoods?
In the Q&A they touched on this, though I wish they’d delved deeper into the options to do so before you even purchase a housing plot, to get the one you want.
Q: How will outdoor housing plots work? If I want a certain plot and it’s taken, do I have the option to try another instance?
A: Absolutely. Essentially, when you want to move house, it’s all going to be packaged up for you, and then you can go wherever you want to deploy your house.

I’ve looked everywhere and haven’t seen a way to create a basement for reasons.
All the rooms in the pre-alpha had stairs going up, same for the two story rooms.
The renown track is locked at 5 the time being but it’s clear it’s supposed to be higher, hopefully we’ll get a way to do that without having the need to artificially build on the second floor to get the cellar on the first floor.
No mancaves.
Breaking Bad: WoW edition
Depending on what furnishings will be available to us, both indoor and outdoor, I’d love to be able to have some sort of shrine/mini-temple outside my priestess’ house! As for the house itself, can’t wait to flood it with night-elf themed decorations. Super looking forward to the neighbourhoods too!
I do hope they change the furniture collection system to be more like the transmog collection, rather than having to go out and kill 10 bosses for 10 of the same chair as was already mentioned… but I fear that’ll be here to stay for a while on the launch of housing.

I’ve been linked this today (thanks Vrayth), a searchable database for housing items. Maybe it’ll help spark ideas! I’m sure the number of furnishings will keep growing.
