Player Housing: What would you like to build?

Decor limit has been tripled for every housing level in the latest Alpha build, starting at 910 at level 1 as opposed to the previous 300. At level 5 the current limit is 2050.

Learning basic furniture from a vendor becomes an automatic process and the cast time of learning furniture from specialised vendors has been reduced by half.

This is huge

Oh cool. That radically changes my plans.

Now all I need is the ability for every character to have their own house.

Or atleast more than two so fitting concepts can share houses!

Apparently they’ve added a room which has an outdoory skybox for use in fake-greenhouses etc.

Yeah, saw this! So cool they’re adding interior options like that. They’re clearly keeping an eye on what the players want with housing!

I hope we get a skybox for one of the ‘hell’ or ‘void wasteland’ zones so I can have a portal to Hell in Paia’s house.

I am going to try and make one of those houses of Zin-Azshari from the Warbringer: Azshara cinematic! Then my Highborne can live in style!

Or try and model one after the Eternal Palace with roots and nature intertwined

Someone let me know whether or not you can make a basement now.

Shouldn’t be now. They are working to allow us to move the entry anywhere we want.

A WIP screenshot from my build before the game bugged out and deleted all my dyed decor. I was in the middle of changing all the seating to a sage green to avoid an overtly monochrome look. My character is an extremely avid reader of Detective novels IC, so I naturally had to build a bay window nook as an optimal reading spot.

The dye system works well, although my gripes are few:

  • They take up a lot of inventory space if you want to grab at least one of each. There should be a separate container, or go into the housing chest like decor that you learn. Currently it seems like you’re incentivised to just carry the specific dyes you actually plan to use.
  • Some items are extremely bugged when it comes to the dye. The texture warps on books in bookshelves when you dye the shelf, default Stormwind curtains do not apply the dye to the cloth, only the fittings. You can’t dye structural decor like placeable walls, which means you can’t currently replicate every interior wall style with them.

I’m glad for the room increase, but different sized rooms now costing room budget is a step backwards, I think. One room should cost one budget—having bigger rooms cost upwards of 12 is a handicap, as it then means you can effectively only build 2-3 rooms in actuality which is even less than before.

Looks super nice, though! Can’t wait to see what you do when this goes into beta/live.

For others having issues with dyes making furnishings vanish, try this:

After dyeing, exit the edit mode and leave the house
Enter the house
The items should now stay when you enter the edit mode again.

Got the tip from WoWkea discord, and it worked for me

I have so many ideas, yet i am not 100% set in stone.

I probably make it very tauren / druid themed sort - a very cozy home were my eldery tauren

can come how to rest after a long druidic pilgrimage.

Very excited to get this system in to the game at last. :dizzy:

For those interested, looks like housing is up on the PTR again. Just had a look and it seems to work for me, even the stuff I had done before was still inside the house.

See some of you in the Beta soon!

I’ve been focusing on testing the housing content over on Beta and feel like I’ve gotten a lot done! The thing I’ve been trying to set up for myself is a moonberry juice brewery with some generic housing tacked on.
