Player Housing: What would you like to build?

I will totally build my lich’s little liberary. (Bit on the nose on the size) but I will totally make one to house every secret known and unknown

I want something Valdrakkenesque for my dragonkin to inhabit.
It can be a nice little pocket dimension. Look small outside with a nice garden full of red and green things and rock formations for black.
Inside? More plants. But magic things, tomes, statues and time related jazz.

That is my desire. Make it so.

It looks absolutely awesome.

The only thing I am kind of worrying about is that it’s going to be very human coded for the alliance and orc coded for the Horde.

This is the unfortunate reality we’ll have to live with for a time, it seems.

I do have a human whom I very much look forward to giving a home, but knowing there are updated Blood Elf assets coming in a year or so, I very much hope for an expanded racial roster where housing is concerned.

I hope not, they have more then enough updated Nightborne, Night Elf, Earthen(and Dwarf), Dracthyr, Goblin, (Mecha-)Gnome assets to also include these races!

So while, for example, Mechagon assets are older, they don’t look that old compared to, for example, Tauren and Silvermoon assets, and even those races had some fairly recent updated added to them by way of the Tauren village in Ohn’ahra and the Relinquary in the Dragon Isles!

I hope I can make a proper tinfoil wearer’s crazy person house.

I kinda hope to be able to build a nice workshop / garage.
I miss Wildstars housing dearly, and what little Blizz showed off echoes some of that - I doubt it’ll be able to get as wild (heh) as that game could, but if at least interiors can get as creative, then I’ll get inspired for a bunch of other things with it for sure.

If there are enough night elf assets, I’d like to build the Bel’ameth arcane school. Not that there would likely be RP use for it, but you never know!

I cannot see the elf centered expansion set in elfland will not have a ton of elf themed furniture for the new house feature.

I’ll finally be able to make the Jeyce Estate a reality.

I do like how they’re taking a lot of inspiration from GW2’s housing (as they are with a lot of things WoW is adding lately tbh) because the housing there is pretty good and that itself was inspired heavily by Wildstar which I still think had the best housing in the genre. I’m kinda surprised the houses themselves can be this big, so I’m guessing the actual plots will be pretty huge too.

I hope the system will be as warband-wide as possible. I’d rather if they designed a seperate profession just for housing (like gw2 does it) that’s also shared across your warband so you wouldn’t have to bother with all the crafting ones just to get decor stuff.

Add those decor drops to old content too so that it’s not just a gold sink.

I would be delighted if there are going to be proper assets as to allow me to design a workshop.

On the assumption that its just one house per account, i’d love to make Crystie’s garage and workshop out of it with her own streaming room for her Gobtube account living quarters. The locale being in sight of Azshara isnt so bad for the Goblin inclined.

I’d perhaps try and sculpt mine to look more like offices (or as close as I can get to one), since I don’t think I’d use a house too much personally.

Plus it would make a good HQ for guild based stuff.

A quiet place to grow plants, read books and avoid the duties of my rank for a few hours.

I will build the most orc hut to ever hut assuming Midnight’s reveal is at all interesting to me.

Glad to see them taking beats from Wildstar’s housing, down to letting you freely clip and scale things.

I think my slight worry with this concept is that the school has so far been only mulled on by Mordent Evenshade, and we don’t yet know if it’ll actually be an established thing in Amirdrassil - and if it was, there would presumably only be one. Who gets to build and run an academy that a notable NPC is thinking about might raise some questions, but maybe I’m just worrying too much!

Edit: If it was presented as a project put into motion by no-name NPCs or a player character, I think that’s one way around it, in case there were other players interested in the same idea.

Being a tauren, it’s hard to imagine what kind of building would fit Ata here.

But I think a Wizards’ tower comes as close as it can be.

I would like some kind of an alchemy / surgery room where he could be practising blood magic and transmutation to try and fix his broken body. Would also work as a torture chamber.

And then another room for all the books and artifacts he has gathered over the years. Racks of armour etc.

His own room would probably just be a simple hammock, a fireplace and some rugs. The whole place would also be rigged with bone charms naturally. I would also like to add a secret passage or escape room for hairy situations.

I think trolls and tauren will struggle with architecture in this regard. Stone and wood buildings with lots of closed surfaces just don’t fit their aesthetic all too well. But you deal with what you get.

A very simple farmer’s house for my Apprentice-Mage to start with, most likely. He hasn’t earnt a beautiful Mage Tower yet.

For Merondill something that can blend the Church and High Elf assets together into a vaguely coherent Light-Elven thematic mix, which I’m under no illusion will probably take awhile in terms of the assets being made available to enable such a thing.

If my Belf Mage was still in use I’d try to make a HD Elven Karazhan for him. He lived in an Elven Spire that had been enchanted so that some rooms expanded into larger hallways and topsy-turvy passages.

I am hoping that we will have the ability to create multiple houses. My tentative assumption is that if there are two distinct housing zones to start with then that means there will be at least two houses available as a result.

Many players dip into both factions and the ‘one size fits all’ approach doesn’t really work for many of the playable races. Elves and humans can probably get away with dipping into each other’s assets and ‘vibes’ but it’s harder for an orc, tauren or troll to do that.

No matter how it turns out, I will likely go all out and create a large manor. I like getting elaborate with housing and facilitating role-play through it.

My guess is one house per housing zone + one house in each guild district you’re part of.
