Player made delves?

Since delves are basically a connection of rooms with mobs either patrolling or standing still in packs, with ill say classic wow quest design of kill x amount or collect x.

What if we were allowed acces to some very basic like delve rooms, standard mobs, and maybe like 3-4 mechanics(like pickup stuff etc). And we were allowed to create our own delves, and share them with each other. Player made gauntlets if you will, with the only requirement being you have to have completed it once before releasing it or something like that?

I wouldnt recommend any crazy rewards or something, but like just something fun to play around with casually so it remains fresh to do them and I think player creativity is always something worth investing in.

Thoughts?

Yes, there should be player-made:
-delves
-df races
-DRIVE races
-price surge tasks
-expedition islands
-torghast wings
-raids
-neighborhoods
etc.

This follows directly from the success of these in such games as GTA Online, Rider’s republic etc, as well as non-mmos like AC: Odyssey etc

And for lore-purists and RP players out there, some of these should probably be Chromie-themed to clearly designate its non-canon.

Blizzard can then spot the more popular themes and use those stats in crafting further DLCs.

I’m not sure about player created, but in my opinion delves definitely should have been procedurally generated to give them some more replayability.

If custom mario levels are anything to go by from Mario Maker : :dracthyr_no1: :dracthyr_no2:

I would not play them and I’m not interested in delves but this sounds like idea which on theory would make it more interesting if there would be some changes in the map.

A Delve Forge would be definitely interesting. Just look at Halos Forge modes.

It could be a creative outlet for players, but personally I would never play content created by other players because you can pretty much guarantee it will be one or more of the following:

  • Be made to troll
  • Be made to upset others
  • Be made with extreme bias
  • Be extremely low level quality
  • Allow for advantages (i.e. making a delve that’s extremely short and easy with the best rewards possible).

So if such a thing would ever be made possible, it should only be for fun.
No actual loot. No rewards.

I just can’t agree with that after the horrendous mess that was Torghast.
If delves ever become like Torghast, I’m done with them right then and there.

Easy solution: Apply a required amount of X assets within certain sections of the delve in order for the person to proceed further with making and publishing it.

There are countless games that tried this, and players always found a way to troll with the mechanics one way or another. A big no from me.

… And?

No really, and? So just because people “Trolled” with the mechanics, it should not be allowed ever?
Pff. A buncha pansies is what you are.

That would only make it more fun for me

That’s the point behind it all, really. Fun.
I really think that the main people who are against it so vehemently are just miserable. That or really weird with weird concerns, as I’ve seen people express some super serious concern about eggplants being shaped within player houses, and it is bizarre to me for someone to immediately jump to that.

Oh well, any reason to try and deny fun things I suppose.

If we declined possible features because of trolls and weirdos we wouldn’t be getting housing anytime soon.

Considering what freaky stuff the FF players do in their houses :dracthyr_uwahh_animated:
