Playerbase split

I feel like an otherwise semi-thriving HC playerbase, is now split.
Most playing on anniversary realm, leaving the official HC servers barren.

Did we really need fresh HC? And why is stiches and nek not merged at this point? Whats the meaning of having 2 (3 including anniversary) HC servers?

Blizz wants money, but having a handful of stable population hc servers does not lead to maximum short term profits. What leads to max short term profits is making a hyped up streamer fanboy server and also baiting people with QoL stuff, that way you get as many people to resub as possible. It’s all about reaching some profit quota for the quarter, really.

Though I blame the HC playerbase too. People were okay with their servers being destroyed and abandoned as long as they got dual spec and instant mail. It’s about as subtle as dangling a turkey leg over a bear trap yet 70% of the community fell for it anyway.

Nekrosh and Stitches should have been terminated.

Now the community is split on 3 realms, and 2 of them are one-sided faction.

Releasing an hardcore server where ZG/AQ20 is available on the start with T0.5, 3 days raid lockout, and all raids opened, was a misstake. People played the easiest version of hardcore and now here we are … they don’t want to move on.

The fresh server are progressive and more close to real experience. Yes, you’ll probably die more (no petri, no world buffs, …) but who care, go again guys.

It’s not about streamer, it’s about playing a fresh server where everyone is fresh and progress at the same pace, so you don’t have to feel overwhelm.

No way. I and I’m sure more with me would have quit in outrage over loosing our hard earned toons.

Faction balance is meaningless on HC servers.
What more is, this is factually wrong. Mayhaps Stitches is dead Horde side because the streamers left, but Nek’rosh is very close to 50/50.
Or do you mean that the Anniversary HC server is monofaction?

And not everybody loves fresh. I don’t for one. I NEVER in my whole WoW life (since Vanilla) played at launch. I wait until the idiocy with standing in lines for elites and fighting ten players for every spawn and all this crap has died down. The anniversary servers with their tons of layers (instead of more realms) will ensure that a bearable (Vanilla-like) population will only happen far into the future.
Plus I want as close as Vanilla as possible, and it’s not phases doing this for me, but no insta-mail, no dual spec and no layers and a lot of other small things.
If we should have the real deal. then begin with patch 1.2, thank you very much, no stacking mail, old model mounts, ancient talents - the whole caboodle. Fake phasing with 1.12 talent and abilities is however way you put it, still easy mode.

How is it easier to play on a realm where all raids are open versus one that does not have any raids? 90% of the playerbase does not concern themselves with raiding so it is irrelevant which ones are open.

People never progress at the same pace. There will always be players that will play more/less than you. The concept of an even Playing Field does not exist when people put a different amount of time into the game.

HC is its own special creation - by its nature a vast majority of players die in The Barrens - so starter zones always tend to be somewhat more congested than more mature servers,

I do think HC with access to AH and trading makes more sense as a standard - those are important elements of the game, and you still only have that 1 life
