We really could do with a punishing system for vote to kick abusers. I had the misfortune of joining a time walking group in progress where I couldn’t zone in as they had kicked their first victim just before the first boss, tried to vote kick a player for “Fat Pandaren” then tried to kick to healer for “sh#tting bricks” and then kicking me for god know what reason putting me on a 30 min cool down for “deserting” the group.
Now this will likely spark a few “just play with friends” remarks but that is not a solution.
I would rather see something like an appeal button where you can at least not get an additional 30 mins deserter debuff if some Hozen brained children decide to put some “funny” reasons in the vote to kick for the “lulz”

Weird I never see who write like this for kick. Every they kick when write “afk”
Yes that is the typical reason you see and when I do I just quickly check if the person is actually afk before voting yes.

I always vote no if I don’t think it’s justified.
Most vote kicks I agree to is someone AFKING, queued for wrong role etc.

I haven’t played on EU in two years I see kicking people off for dumb reasons hasn’t changed at all xD.
Some things never change sadly.

Honestly that’s common sense it’s what I do aswel if I see he hasn’t done anything bad and he or she is just struggling I vote no.
I’ve seen some impatient tanks in my day that have that go go go rush mentality and they see a person falling behind slightly he initiates a vote kick and I’m like no and would often help him or her get back on track.
P.S:It’s good to see you Puny btw nice to see some of the old crew is still here,it’s me Hali btw.

eh the vtk and afk system as a whole needs looking at. the fact you are forced to participate in full LFR / Dungeon clears even if its mid clear with no compensation is insane, the fact vtk operates with minimal data than player voting being required, alot is maliciously done cause just like with most wow punishments these days, the deciding voice is AI

Because tanks/healers would see it is mid cleared but they don’t need anything and leave with no penalty nor compensation, is the reason why the debuff is here too.
Unless, you like to play waiting simulator.

It is a fair point, however–
As someone who actively queues regularly 15-25 minutes for a 10-15 minute activity aka solo shuffle, i’d rather wait that extra bit longer in raids for a fresh clear than being forced to join a mid-cleared raid, then re-queue and get punished for leaving and wanting to do something else when im not eligible to the rest of the raid bosses anymore. Especially since it locks you from all PVE queues for 30 minutes.
The saying is, you give and take, not take and take some more. Somethings got to give as compensation for being messed around if full attendance is being required now

The problem is it is not “extra bit longer” but hours and hours sometimes half a day because the system will not assign a fresh raid as long as in progress raids aren’t finished.
Because of this reason they also removed how many bosses are down from the LFR screen because no one wanted to join them.
Instead, players who finish LFR will be prioritised for a fresh raid immediately. I see people complain then that they would get “stuck halfway” because then they cleared the first half which they were eligible for but then finished the other half earlier and then still get penalised which is something Blizzard could address for the specific people that did plough through it.

Feels slightly exaggerated but I see your point, however. Its not been impossible getting into fresh raids, even as dps its happened enough times between now and Dragonflight, obviously im not a chronic LFR hero so I don’t get to see the deepest darkest depths of the ugly queue simulator, but they should atleast let us opt or prio for a fresh raid over a mid-cleared raid if its going to boil down to being done but being punished for wanting out when your means of getting rewards hits 0.
this was a good change, it was exhausting having raids split into 3 wings to be fair.
the hero satchels you get for filling “Prio/shortage roles” sounds very familiar, though i dont think 1 goodie back is going to cut it for me if im required to spend 15-30 minutes clearing trash to slap 1 boss, maybe 2 depending on wing. Sadly being at a point in life, my time> any trivial in-game reward like focusing runes etdc.
Next time pls link the chat before you got removed, and remember to shade the names exept yours.
Everyone who get kicked apparantly done nothing wrong, said nothing, they just got instant kicked without any reasons. And of cause it happens 9 out of 10 times and EVERYONE agrees.
Habitual vote kickers ought to be punished, absolutely.
Being vote kicked in itself is rare, but there’s those that kick for fun… and it’s those that need to be weeded out.

I’ve often joined LFR, after waiting 15+ minutes, with the first boss dead. Having to wait another 15+ minutes to kill that missed boss, to then be blackmailed into finishing the wing through threat of a deserter debuff is an absolutely trashy thing to do to the player… more so when there’s literally zero incentive to encourage staying.
As such I give the system the big middle finger and take the desert debuff as I’ll be damned doing the rest for zero gain.

You cannot force people to play with you for any reason. It does not matter if their reason is fair, petty, or outright stupid, they still have the right to kick you. That is how group systems work. You can say they should be punished for abusing the system, but the reality is they are not breaking any rule. The system gives them the option to remove players they do not want to play with, no explanation required.
That is exactly why playing with friends is the only real solution. It is the only way to avoid leaving your experience entirely in the hands of random people who can remove you at any moment for reasons that have nothing to do with gameplay. The system is designed to protect group choice, not your spot in the party. You can dislike it, but that is the trade-off with public matchmaking.
That said, you really should not be punished with something like a deserter debuff for normal or heroic dungeons. Those difficulties are casual, low-stakes content, and punishing players for being removed by random groups only makes the system feel worse. If Blizzard wants to protect group choice, fine, but they should not stack extra penalties on top for players who never chose to leave in the first place.

Had a similar coincidence in tbc tw.
I was healer, tank ran like a braindead into first boss, pulling fifteen packs, got one shotted, whole party wiped, I got a kick and desserter.
I remember an LFR run in S1 Dragonflight, on Raszageth, 2 of the healers were in dps spec. After the second wipe and me calling them out, I was the one who got removed from the group. I supposed that one of those healers initiated the kick on me claiming I was on “wrong spec”, and everyone piled up on yes.
Oh well, they saved me repair bills.

Been playing wow for long?
Trust me. Play long enough and the reasons to get kicked border on the absurd as demonstrated here.
The kick system can and will be abused just for the joy of screwing people over. That is their joy.
Seen it all.
The solution is to sadly stay away from PUGS. There are more and more reasons to not play with others in this game that you do not see on a regular basis. The list of reason to not play with people in this MMO are growing.
They are looking at this but i am not holding my breath.
Some people do that as you can’t report the message from vote kick.
Happened something similar few times and it felt really weird as you can’t even know who initiated report and how to report such message
