Watching Warcraft having 250k viewers on Twitch made me realize how wrong Blizzard is planning the future of the game, trying to control every aspect of it. Gatekeeping, balancing, making it complex. What did we learn from Classic and the event of Onlyfangs guild? Players are the real content. No matter how much Blizzard is trying to add “new” content, players will always make the best stories/memories. Keep it simple, keep it social and everyone will enjoy it.
I am pretty sure everyone has their best memories in a guild or with something that happened that wasn’t scripted.
Endless drama
treating small streamers badly
having guild favourite players
Sodapopin try harding in MC
constent shouting and people fake crying over other players deathes
personally i think onlyfangs is a disgrace and fall of tryhards that treat others with distain only reaaon most streamers are playing is as they are getting paid by blizzard to do so.
one streamer i will not name her is so boosted and afk most of the raid she should be ashamed she is to busy watching other streamers and talking to chat to dps.
If not for Blizz, there would be no Onlyfangs and streamer popularity.
Warcraft is their living.
Again, this is possible only thanks to Blizz to creating Warcraft and bringing new expansions, new stuff, mechanics and so on…
I get your whole point, but every coin has two sides.
There would be no content for player, without Blizz and Warcraft.
There would be no Warcraft, without players wanting to engange in that content.
LOL, OnlyFangs is the cringiest WoW content I have ever seen. That content has nothing to do with WoW at all.
I stopped watching big streamers years ago because they are obnoxious with their opinions, and when they play the game, most of them do it as work rather than for fun with a community.
I’d rather watch small streamers with 1-20 viewers and support them if I can. Those streamers actually interact with their chat, and you can even have fun playing with them and making friends.
retail wow is losing players everyday(not talking about end of season drought) and it is really sad but i think they’re finally realising that. wow can’t survive with only hardcore content, player housing coming into game 21 years later is a sign of them realising.
Because I’m too lazy to google it, can someone explain what the Onlyfangs event is, since I suppose it doesn’t include the Goldenshire Inn and the S.E.L.F.I.E. toy?
It’s a community of streamers and there was/is an application process. Many were rejected.
They seem to have a higher than usual level of drama even for Classic. I guess that’s the issue when you’re made up of all streamers/content creators. Lots of egos and all want to grab the limelight making content.
I saw the toxic fallout from the whole Pirate Software incident. He got death threats, doxxed, raided etc. It’s like the very worst side of gaming and does not portray Classic in a very good light.
Many good small streamers were rejected like you say purely based on numbers, all they wanted was people who pull over 1000+ so they could all sit there and pat each others backs.
One of the streamer’s is just a leech all she does is just afk and gets boosted , she thinks she is amazing as she plays wow on a controller
if they are like you it is no problem and will survive without your toxic trolling.
I can’t understand that attitude tbh. If you like Classic go play Classic. Why does it always turn into my game has more players than your game. Even though there is absolutely no evidence.
These players have a large community, they could stream while looking at the ceiling, they would still have viewers, nothing to do with wow
otherwise wow classic is easy, and readable, unlike wow retail where everyone has a different interface with 50000 wa, really watching a pro player on wow is absolutely disgusting, even for a player who knows how to play the game.
Everyone knows AnnieFuschia gets boosted, no shame in stating a fact. But then most streamers do anyway.
The only interesting part about that guild were people like Grubby who was completely new to WoW and seeing/hearing what he thought about it. Sadly people like him don’t really get a chance to experience it the proper way when everything has been mix/maxed to death and the guild is run by tryhards living in the past.
Most people didn’t actually want authentic classic.
Why is classic more social than retail, because players they think they should be social in classic for the classic experience. If players want to be social in retail they can be if they choose to be so.
