Players ending the adventure on Stitches

After yesterday’s 30th anniversary live, what I feared happened. The players found out about the new hardcore server and… they started announcing in large numbers that they were leaving, the number of makgora increased, people jumped from heights. For the first time I couldn’t find a dungeon party.
What a tragedy. And what now will the server suddenly become empty? Why a new hardcore server? This doesn’t make sense.

Well to be fair the economy was destroyed and botting issues.
Also many people wanted fresh HC while everybody was starting from scratch again.

Bit of the same reason for fresh classic era too and TBC that people wanted again although we have to wait until 2026 for that.

It’s only a matter of time before botters/rmt destroy the economy again however.

I’m sorry to laugh at what is a semi-serious topic, but I just have this picture in my head now of people “falling” out of windows and jumping off of cliffs and watchtowers, screaming FREEDOM! on the way down

I personally don´t get the point of offing yourself on one realm just to start over on a new one, HC or not. But in today’s world, where interpersonal relationships are worth less to most people than a ball of icecream, esp in a videogame… yeah, unfortunately it doesn´t surprise me, either…

Yes this is what it looks like: the last words before jumping or drowning are “free at last!”

For me it’s a sheep rush.
Someone said: new server, fresh economy and everyone has the idea that it will be a different game.
And it will be the same, only from the beginning.
This is how marketing works and in a month all those players who are losing high-level characters will be sorry

It´s just all in all stupid to release a fresh hc realm. Lately, the Nek´rosh Horde population has dwindled while the stitches one has increased. You could not even find a single group for mid level dungeons with ease.

A merge would´ve been the smartest choice here instead of just releasing another realm that´s gonna have bots in no time.

But alas, here we all are playing and paying blizzard, so they don´t have to police anything at all.

You will learn what botting issue is in 7 days.
Stitches have 30 chinese/r*ssian bots in SM, dozen in other dungeons and few hundreds across all levels. New server gold price will be 10x higher, so the botting will be AT LEAST 10 times more rampant.

Or you expect blizzard to actually ban them? Lmao.

Copy/pasting myself from another thread:

  • I suspect that the fresh HC servers is simply a way to lure people into fresh at all. When you die, you can transfer to the normal realm - it would not do to make transfer possible from the p6 HC realms we have now into the fresh normal server, so they had to open up a fresh HC following the phases on normal fresh to feed people into the fresh realms.
  • I think this will not work, because this is not how the majority of HC players tick. While most HC players transfer some of their dead HC’s to Era, none of them really plays these tooms, only keeping them as trophies, but instead go again in HC.

That said I am staying on Nek’rosh, I’m not leaving my level 60 behind, and not killing him off either

It may not be how players want to behave, but low/mid level dungeons on Horde Nekrosh have become so rare, that it only leaves players with the choice to leave. People may not want to but, after all, you need other people for the game to feel alive.

Yes and no, private challenges, IronMan, SF and a zillion other needs only few other players. We played IronMan on HW when it was almost deserted, and it was fun (until the Addon-players swarmed it - but that’s another story) … but then IronMan do forbid any dungeons at all.

The majority of players plays non sf without any challenges. They certainly need other players the most. I wish it werent so

Don’t really see any reason for EU players to change servers. Most people like playing with other players in an MMO so the new server will be dead within a month because no streamer guild carrying it.

Guilds will swap server because they like the fresh start, economy, server first, etc.

for what? to have the very same situation in a few months…

They can be referred to as “fresh junkies” whom think that the wheel is suddenly becoming re-invented for the first time when a fresh realm is released, only to realize after a few weeks that the wheel has already been invented and used for thousands of years.

I so dont understand a new HC server. They person who came up with this should be fired and demoted. And i so dont understand the arguments from players going there, nothing is gonna change in the end. But i do hope for a server merge, that would be aswome imo.

I like it, I think it brings a spark that hc needs. I know some players like being established, but the old hc servers will be there for you.

And the worse part is that we have no guarantees about stability of new realm. At least with old Stitches the pop was medium-low, not like in august-september 2023 when DCs and layer bugs killed thousands characters daily. New realm might be just the same with extra layers supported probably by outsourced 3rd party data centers from some country with the cheapest hardware rent available. Not a huge deal for scaling up PvP or PvE realms, but a catastrophic solution for a HC. I would never waste my Nek’Rosh character, even if realm would be completly empty, before knowing I am moving to a reliable realm.

90+% of HC population returned less than two months ago. Most of them died before 40.
Its not a spark, its a cope.

What should I learn what botting is?

I’ve been playing WoW since 2004. I know what botting is.
