That cant be all can it ? Ive heard some people are above renown 20 already, and thats more than just one extra psct quest .
But hey , its at least something, same as brann revert
4 days is just a slap on the wrist.
Compared to the bans they handed out for the XP potion exploit back in BfA these are smol punishments.
I’d be interested in knowing how many players exactly were doing this and how many of those were RWF/top guild players.
But I think the suspensions should have been set to go for longer, to go over the timeframe when Mythic Raiding opens up, so those players screws themselves over for this exploitation and the teams get screwed over as well because they have players in their line-up, with no common sense.
However, at the end of the day Blizzard will never do that and never to their popular players. I think popular players should be held more accountable for their actions and given larger/harsher punishments.
I think I’ve seen both Echo and Method mentioned on twitter but I have no idea beyond the tweets.
I just find it amusing that they would exploit in this manner, considering they’ll be replacing the champion gear in a few days, and they’ll get the same amount of crests as everyone else.
Common sense needs to be slapped across those players face with fines set by the teams or being removed from taking part in the RWF next week.
Yeah but that one was more widespread. This one is not that impactful, but still merits a response.
Not for the ppl in the race. They are cutting their hc week in half, which hurts pretty badly (unless they bypass it).
Exactly. They should revert them back to Renown 1
They won’t miss out on anything, unfortunately. They play the game more than most of us on a daily basis. Not only that, but they’ll have their farm teams to plow them through the M0 stuff and delves to get geared up.
Furthermore, they should have been fully blocked from playing until Mythic opens, so they’re screws in terms of gear.
By cutting HC week from 7 days to 4, they lose a pretty big amount of gear (mainly delve gear and m0 farm).
Any more than this and it would actually hurt the race, which is something that I do not believe blizz, players, or the teams wants.
Blizz just needs to send the message that “get serious and do not abuse stuff”. All they needed to do is to give a penalty that would impact those players without actually ruining the race. With that they would be more careful with future exploits.
No, they should have. The race is meant to be fair and equal across all teams that get involved. If one or more teams have been exploiting to get a better advantage heading into the next gear phase, then they themselves have ruined the race itself.
It’s unfortunate and has really made me less interested in watching the RWF this time around.
It gave them something which is why they went for it. I see most are just moving their split runs until after the bans run out.
Eh, slap on the wrist for doing something stupid. Sounds about right.
There are some who have abused the system with multiple accounts by accepting the blue quests on multiple characters are the same time. A guy even streamed himself doing this on twitch. And there are others who have done nothing more than complete the quests in the area on multiple linked accounts and this has led to huge rep gains. There is a rabbit away with how Blizz has implemented rep gain to linked accounts.
So some have deserved this ban without a doubt, while others have done nothing more than play the game. Its popcorn time imo. This will not sit well with a lot of players who consider themselves guilty of nothing more than making use of multiple accounts. I doubt this is the end of this one.
In a serious competition wouldn’t they get disqualified?
It’s not a serious competition.
Doesn’t surprise me. I don’t really get getting world firsts. But I really, really don’t get exploiting to get there.
Apparently not.
only thing serious about it is that it blows up the WoW category for a few days. Blizzard will let you account share, RMT, bot and exploit and give you a slap on the behind and a wink “naughty naughty don’t do it again mr Gingi sir, hes a biiiiiiig 4 day ban!” as long as you’re contributing to WoWs advertisement.
didn’t use to be this way, though. Swifty got a perma for using his livestream to lag servers and crash one. Reckful got a perma for account sharing with a viewer to try out shadow priest without leveling one. but that was a long time ago, back when first time botters got 6 months as well. now a days the only way to get a 6+ month ban is to type naughty words.
exploit on stream? dont worry gingi we’ll have you out before mythic week.
another recent example is sodapoppin buying gold on stream and all they did to him was vendor his gear and delete his gold on his account, which for a streamer is about as inconvenient as having a mob attack you while you’re looting a mining node. gee what a biiiig punishment
