Playing duo

Hi. I would like to ask about the experience of playing retail as duo from lvl 1. How is it? Years ago, me and my wife tried, not sure which expansion it was, MoP maybe, to find out that everything is so easy for a duo that it is absurd. Also cutscenes bugged out our quests sometimes when we did them as a two-player group. So we concluded retail isn’t created with a group play in mind, gave up and didn’t come back. Now, many years later, people in Classic told us that Dragonflight is a decent expansion, so the question I would like to ask is: Is it worth trying retail from lvl 1 as a duo or is it still a single player design? I haven’t found anything on the internet on the topic, so chances are it is not even a thing anymore, I don’t know. Please enlighten me. Thanks.

Oh well…
almost the whole content is super easy to solo and then you both fall asleep while playing.

The team of 2 worked very well at the beginning. in classic we bought a lot of food and arrows up to no more and leveled in a hostile area. this was a pvp server and it was very dangerous to do quests because we were ganked all the time.
the whole thing was a great adventure with many battles and dangers. we only had green loot from the mobs. and often we even fought against elite opponents and got upgrades.
that was the best wow time.

but for now it’s childish rushing to lvl 70 and boredom in lousy dungeons.

I’m playing an evoker with a friend so this was from L58 only. The only real annoyances we’ve had are that quests are really inconsistent for a group. Some quests everything counts for both of us, other quests it doesn’t so we have to do double what should be necessary. Apart from that, in Dragonflight the mobs seem quite hard for 2 of us - I’m not sure if they’re scaled for a group. The other problem is if one of you has a gathering profession. My friend is miner/herbalist and a) I have to twiddle my thumbs while he gathers and b) he reached L70 while I was still about L65 as mining/herbing give a lot of xp. But most of the time, it’s fun.

My BF and I play it as a duo and level a lot together since he is not much for end game content like I used to be (not so much anymore since DF).
It has worked fine for us, only very few quests have seemed group-unfriendly.

Questing/leveling at all is fairly easy imo (this is MY opinion, others disagree), both on classic and retail, even if you are solo.
So I would say it’s worth it if you enjoy just doing things together.
Like any game; It’s usually made more fun with others, and the game itself usually only is a smaller part of WHY it’s fun (again; imo).

It’s 100% a thing to level with others, and I would give it a try if I were you, especially since its free up to level 20.
You might not enjoy it; Nobody else can tell you how you will feel, sadly.
