Playing warlock compared to mage is like the difference between the smell of sh1t with a cologne.
I’m not talking about numbers here,they are similar in that regard,is just warlock feels abandoned by the devs.
So outdated…Thoughts?

Well there’s someone who doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
It was completely overhauled in patch 10.1.5, and just recently there were a bunch of tuning changes which has made mages play a new build that plays radically differently, focusing on frostbolts instead of ice lances and changing tons of priorities.
Then there’s all the CC and talents moving around.
Anyway, glad you’re enjoying it OP. It is a fun spec to play, even if it can get a bit too hectic or confusing.

So you don’t hit ice lance on procs… o wow its changed so much… Looking at recount Frostbolt tickles… so I don’t think its built around it… you use it to proc other skills same old ways.
It’s ok to have bad taste.

Have been reminded how much I miss affliction since the anniversary started.
Very interesting.
I am maining frost mage, currently 4/8Mythic, and i am finding the class extremely frustrating and unfun. Guacamole spam the shiny button with the proc. Very little strategic play or preplanning, its all about reacting to the fast procs. Very squishy and and on.
However, i have an alt warlock 8/8HC that i am gearing and I AM LOVING IT! Demo is super fun.
I guess its a matter of taste. In my case, ill stick with mage for this season to not leave my guildies without Arcane Intellect. But i am most likely rerolling lock in 11.1

my first character on my server was a Orc warlock actually and still leveling him al ltime new expansion comes.
not a fan of leveling mage with quest to squishy
Warlock is better because pet can tank for you and has flashy spells and you don’t have to kite
I mean, not really. The removal of the water elemental pet alone was a pretty significant change.
I miss Mr Bubbles so much. Haven’t touched my frost mage since.

Every time I see someone complain about Warlocks I go “yeah you’re right, they do feel pretty outdated with their fairly immobile turret playstyle 
”
But then I log onto my Demolock and have an absolute blast with explosions everywhere and laugh at my silly amount of minions (~20 imps, 1+1 felguards, 2 hounds, 1 tyrant, 1 charhound and the odd doomguard), wondering why I was even feeling worried.
They could do with a bit more utility (even if waterbreathing is great in the horrible underwater delves, and healthstones are always welcome), but thats about it.

I hope they quit reworking Demo and leave it as it is or improve, the spec is perfect rn imo considering we will never be getting demon form back
Thoughts? That the smell of cologne is opinional like the post. I like both lock and mage equally tho, Ill see and raise your offer and think both are outdated on design. Going from shadowlands to df on frost mage with hardly any changes on the spec, then from df to tww with the same. Warlock has had more changes than frost mage if we compare reworks, still I think both have outdated aspects.
That is in fact a big change, because it means much, much less mobility.
But you know what? Believe whatever you want. I don’t care. 
I absolutely cannot stand frost mage. Spent hours playing around with it trying to learn it and it’s just so bad in every way I can think of. Much prefer arcane, which I have predominantly used till now, but fed up with arcane orbs pulling stuff. I have an alt priest that I would main if it wasn’t for the fact I never get invited to dungeons with it because I don’t have TW/Hero. I do more dps on a priest and enjoy it more. Same with fury warr. Guess it’s a matter of taste. BTW dungeons I’m interested in is M10/11 and higher.

Nah, Demonology Warlock is fantastic. Best spec in the game to play and has been for some time. Mage might have undergone some nice changes, but no Mage spec feels as good to play as Demo, IMO.

Same, cant stand the design of the spec now. Mop frost was fun, setup frost bomb on deep freeze and spam ice lance, prolong buffs with alter time, simple and effective. Found little fun on fire once upon a time and even in this expansion for short but they had to ruin that too.
