Playing on EU servers from Australia

Hello

So I might move down to Western Australia next year and I was wondering if there is anyone that have tried it in the later years now that internet is a bit better.

I mostly want to play on eu servers to still stay connect to my friends. That’s why there is no option to swap to US servers.

Like where did your ping land? is it really that bad?

Ping is mostly a thing of distance issue rather then connection issue with better network infrastructure coming each year. I don’t see how this will be fixed until we get some revolutionary advance from science at this.

This is from years back:

Thank you for your answer <3

I play on EU from the US currently, quite fine.

100% playable.

But from Australia, you might get like 220+ ping if not more

I regularly play on EU servers from Australia, and while my ping generally sits in the 280-300ms, it’s still very playable.

You can look into third party products like ExitLag to help smooth out your connection.

I played from South Africa for a long time, the ping was about 200ms which was playable but less desireable.

It’s a function of distance so like was said above, you’ll be looking at closer to 300. 3rd party products don’t make the world smaller so their effect will be minimal.
