I’m thinking of getting an M1 Mac mini and don’t really know how this game runs on that machine, especially on crowded zones like raids or cities like Orgrimmar.
Is there any heating or other problems ? Also I have two (non Apple) monitors, does plugging them both affects in any bad way ?
Mine will feel skin-warm after hours of gameplay, it literally never gets hot. Performance is also great (relative to the cost), i am playing at 2560x1440 with a custom quality setting of 3-4 and i never feel it dipping below 60fps.
The only performance issue is a bug with MacOS which causes WoW (and some other apps) to crash when VSync is off so this might be a bummer if your monitors can go higher.
It manages raids although some particle effects drop the FPS (note what happens when all of the floor is in “fire”) - but it could be mitigated by some lower settings:
In BGs with lots of PvP it seems to struggle a bit too:
IMHO right now it may be better to wait for 2021 chips or getting something else. Plus the SSD usage issue may turn out to be some sort of a problem on the existing M1 devices.
