Playing tank or healer in this game is like shooting ur own foot

Yup, but I understand that Blizzard is scared playing with the threat per damage modifier, because it can lead to tanks kiting mobs in circles with huge packs and avoiding damage, if they do a math-error. Instead I think they should make tank damage very simple to execute, as tanks have enough cognitive load compared to other roles, so they can design the threat they wanna have easier without all these small modifiers, etc. that bloat the calculations of the game.

Otherwise, yeah, healer damage is just not designed well. It’s not necessarily the numbers alone, they should make the damage spells an actual part of the gameplay design of the specialization by giving healer unique damage spells, and combining it with healing spells, ressources, etc. to fight button bloat, etc.

tanking is harder but i enjoy healing - really like… im using only “clique” addon, no other advanced healbots or anything and just vibe in most runs and raids xD

The same is possible with lower threat modifier, but higher damage - if they do a math error. It’s just not a valid argument to say that tanks deserve almost-DPS levels of damage, but healers should stay at the wet noodle levels we are at this expansion.

Tanking is not harder not for a mile tbh, healing in dungeons varies because of the people in your group can be skilled players or they can be dog… dps can be so low that u need to heal more then u actually needed to do. Or dps can stand in everything what they can avoid. Healing is harder then tanking for sure.

if they stand in fire, it’s their problem if i can’t heal them up.

if as tank i mismanage defensive or pull too much - that’s my bad.

the latter is “easier” to fail.

That doesn’t make any sense, a healer isn’t meant to cover for players mistakes (except for the lower tiers of content). By that logic tanking is harder because the healer may be afk, thus you only have yourself to keep to keep you alive.

By design, you cannot cover for people’s mistakes in higher keys, as mistakes tend to get them killed more or less instantly. All covering of mistakes is in the low and middle tiers of keys, which is why traditionally the mid keys have always been the most stressful to heal. People still make a lot of mistakes, but the damage already ramps up to where you cannot realistically deal with both avoidable and unavoidable damage at the same time.

exactly - i find healing with even “Average” players rather enjoyable - sure ppl make mistakes but it’s rarely anything one cant recover from.

This is completely untrue. You can practically pull everything as a tank with 0 chance of dying while doing comparable DPS to an actual DPS.

Tanks are busted for open world. Tbh, any casual content.

Yeah, I disagree with the OP. Tanks are the best at solo open world content. They can easily pull 10+ mobs at once and beat them down without risk of dying.

Most healers are also fine IMO. Yeah, they’re a bit slower than DPS, but they can also often pull big and heal themselves if they use their defensives and CCs properly. The problem is, most beginner healers don’t use their full toolkit and die quickly when fighting a couple of mobs at once.

For Delves and Horrific Visions, tanks and healers can get a DPS NPC to help them out, so it’s not too slow for them.

You’ve got to pull big as a tank. If you do 10+ mobs at once, you’ll be faster than a DPS.

No no, please go to nearest hospital.

Dude, as a BDK tank I can do solo content whilst holding a cup of coffee in my other hand. What are you talking about???

Tanking is harder? Nah not really. Depends on content though
