Plea from Turkish Community

Personally I believe that if you are unable to control where you’re born, you don’t deserve the luxury of playing video games.

Yes, but instead of comparing average income and complain that it’s not equal, try to do what’s best for yourself, improve, find better job, etc.

And there are many other products beside it.
I support the view that why should Blizzard bend over to 1 country but not to others? If I can’t afford that expensive brand of coffee, then I look for a cheaper alternative. Some people seem to think that they can ONLY play WoW and nothing else which is obviously not true.

So suggesting to try a cheaper alternative is bad…because why? WoW is NOT 1 of the kind unique drug which there is no alternative so if you are unlucky to be ill with a disease curable only by that drug, then you have no choice but to buy it.

WoW is an 1 option besides the other MMORPG games available on the market. If its too expensive, then I can suggest trying a cheaper alternative?

Then why is my income worth less to you than theirs? Why should I be punished more than them for accounts I had no say in?

Is it my fault they were born there? No.
Is it my fault the citizens voted these people in that destroyed their economy? No.
Is it my fault their government messes up (economic) policies? No.
Is it my fault their average income is lower than in my country? No.
Is it my fault their cost of living is LOWER than in my country? No.

Yet I was born in a family bound to welfare due to illness of my mother and in a fatherless home. Don’t assume that everybody that resides in a country that’s doing well is born in a €€€€€€€€€€€ income family. Such a stupid assumption to make.

Yes I feel so rich for having to work and pay for every single thing I ever wanted in my life because I couldn’t rely on my family that was barely scraping by to even have food every day.

Yes I am so rich to never having had a proper childhood because of all the problems that came with living on the poverty line, so keep your stupid assumptions for yourself, please… thanks.

I guess that isn’t a simple task when your country is ruled by a tyrant

So because I cannot afford a yacht and go sailing on a daily basis, I must demand that yachts are made affordable to me? Or a racing car, or any other ‘recreational’ activity which involves a high cost.

Of course people are allowed to voice their distress, but others are also allowed to have opinions that may agree or oppose.

My argument was if this is considered then what about people who are unemployed and living on benefits? Would a reduced sub be applicable for such people who also have a very low income in relation to those employed?

Just pop back in there and try again.

Yess, forum is extraordinarily productive today when it comes to solutions

This argument is invalid. Russia pays their own prices yes. Correct. But Blizzard also pays less to hos Russian servers as servers in Russia are cheaper. So essentially they are paying little for Russian servers and therefore they are taking little from Russian players.

Turkey plays on expensive European servers and therefore they charge you the expensive costs like anyone else in EU is paying. The prices that they charge players does not depend on country but on which servers you play. If you play on servers that are expensive you pay the higher cost like German, Brits and etc. Turkey is not the only country in Europe that earns less. East European countries do too but they’re never going to adjust prices to your economy simply because the servers you play on cost more than in Russia or China where prices are very low.

But I can play on russian servers aswell? And I believe Russians are also able to play on the other servers?

I believe you only can play on a Russian server with a Russian client.

That is correct ! I wanted to play on Russian server just to see how it is ,and game downloaded Russian language pack ( both audio and text ).

Just noticed that. But I think that’s more a technical issue (cyrillic alphabet) than anything else. I could download the russian client and I assume russians can download the english client and play on eu servers?

I may be wrong but any Russian subscriber can play at other EU servers as well. They may use different client but as far as I know EU subscriber can play at RU servers, RU subscribers can play at EU servers.

Here is a thread from last year. So they pay less for the same servers.

You need to restart game to change language each time you want to log character on different region server.

you are correct but it’s not as simple as this.
Russians generally do not speak English and most Russians play on their servers.
Turkish people do speak English and they generally play with Europeans. They don’t have their own servers. You also have to remember that Russia is a huge country and they are worth it putting this work in but Turkey is a small country and Blizzard wouldn’t see it as worth it to put all this extra work in to make sure that Turkish people can pay less. If they did this then all other European countries with worse economies would demand it as well and would go on a tantrum if only Turkey got special service. That’s a lot of money and resources being spent just so people can pay less money.

I believe so. I guess you can try to use a vpn and pay less if you want.

I personally don’t really care. I was just wondering since someone argued the cheaper fee in Russia was due to server cost.

No. AFAIK, initially they could only play on Russian servers, but several years ago that limitation was lifted.

Makes sense. I wouldn’t want to be limited to just german servers either.
