Oh my god that is a brilliant advice.
Part of the problem is that 13€ is about 107₺ (Turkish Lira).
The average monthly salary in Turkey is around 7,830₺, that equates to about 950€ a month.
So comparatively, Turkish players do pay more as they’re not on the Euro and are subject to exchange rate fluctuations and the average wage is lower than most other European countries.
However, the main issue is a political one. It’s not the rest of Europe’s fault that the Turkish economy crashed.
There are poor people in every country in the world and for countries that don’t pay in their own currency can end up suffering, but that’s the price you pay for wanting to play a global game.
Computer games are a luxury item, subscription based games are a special luxury item. If you can’t afford to play unfortunately that’s tough, it’s not the fault of Blizzard, the UK, the EU or any other country that plays on the EU servers.
Really ? that means their purchasing power is actually higher than in good chunk of EU countries.
We all should, they could’ve increased it at several points especially considering how much has been added to wow, how “old expansions” have become “free to play”, how core races were made available etc.
Yes they do? Average indian is far more poor than a european.
Im not talking about raw price, im talking about purchasing power.
If you have ever came to Turkey ; you would be amazed about the purchasing power of 13 euro ; compared to eu zone.
Other way round, their money doesn’t go as far.
Average monthly salary in Turkey: 950€ which would be 7,830₺
Average monthly salary in Germany: 3,810€ which would be 31475.44₺
Average monthly salary in France: 4130€ which would be 34119.05₺
Average monthly salary in Poland: 7,560zł which is 1713.55€ or 14156.10₺
The Minimum hourly wage in France for example is 10.03€ per hour. In Turkey it’s about 5.50€ and that’s an average minimum wage, there doesn’t seem to be a government mandated minimum wage like in the EU.
Wages are lower in Turkey therefore they have less disposable income.
But that is still a political issue with their government, and other EU server players shouldn’t have subscription prices rise to cover the cost of lowering the price in Turkey, because that is what would happen IMO
cost of living in Turkey isn’t much lower than EU average
Nor is cost of living in Eu much lower than Eu average . what is point ?
That would never happen though (rest paying more) and no one would want that What we suggest is for Blizzard to check projections for demand in case the subscription cost decreases, ie if it makes business sense for them, ie they make more money.
That isn’t true. Wages may be lower but the cost of living may be far lower too.
It’s about the purchasing power of the money you have where you are.
When Blizzard increased the UK sub price by £1.00 (1.11€, 9.15₺) the UK flipped and there were dozens of threads complaining about it.
It was the first price increase since game launch and brought it inline with the Euro price again due to inflation and exchange rates the price had become misaligned. Yet people were complaining about the price rise. It was even frozen for 2-3 years provided you didn’t break your subscription and there were still complaints.
Yet there were no complaints about the UK paying less from Euro payers, they just got on with it.
The only complaints I have ever seen on the forums about the subscription price is Turkey wanting a lower sub or the UK shouldn’t have a price rise.
If one country gets a lower price for the EU servers, all countries will request it.
Also there would have to be a huge surge in Turkish subscriptions to counter the decrease in sub fee to avoid it being passed on to other payers, which wouldn’t happen.
₺,€,$ whatever. 1€>8₺ | 1$>6.95₺
First person : Working 55 hours per week for a month. ( Result : 2.325₺/280,91€)
Second person : Working 55 hours per week for a month. ( Spain : 1.050€)
Third person : Working 55 hours per week for a month. ( French : 1.521€)
3-4 Turkish minimum wage equal to 1 Spain minimum wage.
5-6 Turkish mimimum wage equal to 1 France minimum wage.
If you want to see real thing, EU regions are working less than Turkey for minimum wage. So atleast, this is not TR community’s fault and not Blizzard’s fault but they can do something about “equality rights”. We are in same ship with other community players.
Sadly yes they are poorer ,but not 88 times don’t be silly .
Exchange ratio doesn’t correspond to purchasing power simply as that.
The more of currency X is in existence the less valuable is RELATIVELY to currency Y .
Oversimplified example :
Eu salary lets say 1000 euro.
Tr salary lets say 8000 lira .
= same at 1 to 8 exchange ratio ( if we exclude internal politics like taxes etc.)
Sometimes countries deliberately print money to de-valuate currency in order to gain competitiveness in export market.
They play csgo and Dota if wow 2x price
I’ll say last thing about economy. Everybody’s working for money. Let’s think like that ;
I want to eat bread. So i should buy one for eat it.
I worked in Turkey then i went to Germany because bread is only making in Germany. I want to one bread from baker. He’s saying:“Oh it’s Turkish Lira. I wanna just Euro.” . Im going to Exchange. I’m taking just one 1€ for bread and i’m paying 8 Turkish Lira for it. I went back to baked and i’m giving 1€.
Any German can take a bread without extra effort from baker. This is same bread both of us but someone paying more than other.
How do you can solve this problem right now?
First step : You can ignore Turkish people for access to bake.
Advantage : You haven’t any problem about currencies.
Disadvantage : You’ll lose money.
Second step : You can add a new currency for balance between € and ₺ because you have to be “fair” for eachother.
Advantage : You can earn more money.
Disadvantage : Maybe in next step, they can want to another things.
What a giant pile of nonsense.
Well, let me explain this;
When you travel to a country, you exchange your local currency with THEIRS before leaving the airport, right? Because a Canadian or US citizen have nothing to do with your money. So you end up with exchanging Turkish Liras to Canadian or US dollars.
There is nothing suprising about a German baker asking for euros from his/her customer in Munich or someother city in Germany.
Above explanation is a referral to your comment;
“He’s saying:“Oh it’s Turkish Lira. I wanna just Euro.” . Im going to Exchange. I’m taking just one 1€ for bread and i’m paying 8 Turkish Lira for it. I went back to baked and i’m giving 1€.

Other than that, Blizzard Entertainment, is an American video game developer and publisher based in Irvine, California. So they are not IMF or World Bank to care about world economy. They have a product and a subscription plan that’s all. A customer would have two options;
A- Buy the product and subscribe to the game and play it.
B- Due to your terrible economy, you choose not to pay huge amount of your money to Blizzard Entertainment and post under a forum thread complaining why this company is not making WoW affordable to beloved Turkish citizens.
A game company has nothing to do with equalizing subscription fees based on how poor/rich a country is.
We pay nearly 2 thousand rupees per 1 month subscription (it’s late and I am sleepy… but I can cook up the precise numbers from my bank statements if you need one). It costs as much as a mainstream console game.
oh man… just close the tv lol. Luxury in Greece is to work 8 hours and not 12… who telling you these? Yes there are part time jobs too, where you only work 4 hours but with like 200-300 euro.
Also in what luxury are you referring? The loans Greece got all gone to banks or to buy weapons from Germany and France. But I am sure they told you that we are sitting in the beach drinking our tekilla and having fun with your money… Better believe in flat earth…
