Plea to SoD dev team

If you plan to make shaman and paladin cross faction, please oh please make undead paladin a thing. I want to be a human paladin, his whole life guided by the light; risen after death and now guided only by retribution. Please oh please I don’t want to play a cow. That is all, thank you.

i always thought the idea of taurens being paladin was silly.
it makes sense for undead to be paladins though.
they can be priests, so the idea that the “holy light” conflicts with the idea of being a paladin due to being undead is sketchy at best and doesn’t make sense at worst.

for some reason, blizzard always refused the idea and figured tauren paladins made more sense (which it just doesn’t).

In lore this is not possible UD can be priests because their conviction but the light burns them every time they use it, to be a paladin is to become one with the light which would be impossible for an undead as they would be in never ending fiery agony

Okay, so if you’re gonna go the way of “the lore” then how about this:

Shadow priest and Warlock should not be available to alliance, because in the lore, practicing dark magic is strictly forbidden by law, on the pain of actual death.
you are caught with something as meager as an imp or even slightly fainted eyeshade in your pupils?
Heresy - hang em’ up on the cross and purge them of their sins with the fires of holiest wrath in a manner that would make Uther himself blush at the seams.

bro this goes both ways.

originally blizzards intent was to disallow warlocks and shadow priests for alliance and likewise holy priests would be disallowed for horde, because it went against the lore.

they realized it was a bad idea and went back on that philosophy, but unfortunately they only did so half-way through.

what sense does it makes for i.e humans to be allowed to roam stormwind accompanied by effin’ demons?
none, but that doesn’t matter because balance > lore.

but undead paladins? NOOO SAY IT AIN’T SO!!!

yeah thats something too, but an undead literally cant be a paladin because their nature is not compatable with being a paladin

Ok, so explain undead holy/disc priests to me real quick?
whats the difference between a man of the light vs. a… man of the light-light?

you know what, lets include troll holy/disc priests too for that matter… in what world does cannibal voodoo practicing limb-generating human sacrifice practicing degenerate jungle dwellers deserve the grace of the light?

A priest wields the light- The light answers to conviction.
The light hurts undead to use it sears their flesh. Undead priests have faith in the light thats so strong they still manage trough the pain.

A paladin becomes one with the light, meaning paladins are Light incarnate, which an undead cannot be.

The light doesn’t care who wields it as long as they have conviction, This is why the scarlet crusade who are evil can use the light, because their faith in it.

wow there buddy, are you saying undead people cannot hold conviction?

okay, so what prevents them from being paladins then?

so a priest is not “one with the light”?
you realize a priest is basically the same, if not higher status, as a paladin?

k, so why can’t undead do it, provided they have conviction?

wow bro, calm down, the scarlet crusade is a grey area.
they are not “evil”.
they are, at worst, merely misled, and ironically the light’s embrace only furthers their (wrong) conviction despite the moral dilemma they represent.
this is a whole can of worms for sure, but dude, the scarlet dudes have their own reasons for being the way they are, and the light probably recognizes the merit of their beliefs due to the fact that its highly debatable whether they are in the wrong or the right.

i hate to invoke real life stuff, but i’ll do my best not to derail by simply saying that there’s a lot of governments throughout history that believed their invasions of other nations were morally justified by their “holy cause”.

i mean… hello? the holy roman empire wants to have a word.
the literal pope of Christendom wants to have a word… as would pretty much any other sect of religious practice that has blood on their “holy” hands in the name of their deities.

i think you get my point bub

you couldn’t be more wrong about that.
are you just gonna ignore the points i am making?

by the way, do you know who literally worked with the undead in order to achieve his goals?
GRAND
MARSHAL
GARITHOS.

a literal paladin of the highest esteem among his alliance peers.
this guy literally said “exterminate the elves” on a whim, and the alliance - humans, specifically - was like “sure, ok, not even gonna ask. consider it done”.
