For me and others, Wrath was the height of the game and home in WoW
Blizzard, please consider adding Wrath-era realms that won’t progress onto Cata, like how Classic servers stayed when TBC Classic came out.
If the game keeps progressing over to the next expansions, it isn’t really “classic” in my eyes. At least there’s SoD which is a bit of Classic+ for me.
Agree, I don’t rly understand why CAN’T they add at least one or two era servers, yet they keep multiple vanilla era and wotlk ( i guess now cata ) empty servers up. I’m pretty sure there would be enough ppl to play in these servers or at least those who want to stay in wotlk forever wouldn’t be forced to go to a private server.
Completely agree! I signed up for classic hoping to play up to Wrath, then stop, as it is undoubtedly the expansion most consider the peak of the game. I did NOT sign up for classic simply to have a re-run of the whole progression of WoW. Nobody, at all, signed on for that when we wanted Classic. Wrath servers are absolutely something we would love.
I agree. I wanted this so bad but sadly they didn’t care. Wrath is my all time favourite. Even if it 1 server I’d be happy. Well, maybe one day we’ll have a Wrath Era server…
I wouldn’t mind an RP realm too, but I’m glad others agree with me, maybe Blizzard will consider it if it gets enough support. After all, that’s how Classic started to begin with.
I wouldnt mind having a forever WOTLK server for my main to go live on, but Blizzard obviously doesn’t think there is any financial incentive to do so. How many people would play it? Realistically I don’t think many.
I’m not even sure I would play it, since having an active playerbase is vital. I much prefer WOTLK gameplay to Cataclysm though, Cataclysm gameplay is like retail lite or retail alpha version, retail is honestly better.
I’m curious, and i don’t say that as a criticism but …
What appeal there is to stay on a fully progressed server?
I genuinely don’t understand. In Wrath, once ICC and Ruby Sanctum is out, all other tiers become obsolete. One can do them (once) for achievements, that’s about it.
Even alt can catch up faster in gear through dungeons to get ICC ready?
So for those who really enjoy era servers (so far, only vanilla exists), what’s the appeal?
Dedicated is the keyword here. Because it does take dedication, and like minded players, to go through older content rendered obsolete by gear available on a fully progress.
Different strokes for different folks. I will agree that player have different goal and enjoy different aspect of the game. For me, progressing, making multiple attempt to kill a boss, learning the tactics and mechanics and executing them flawlessly, and finally the boss fell is the rush i seek in the game.
That is why i am not understanding the appeal of running obsolete content. But again, i understand that people have different goal in the game.
What ? For who ? Every server and all the Guilds died because LK has been up for half a year too long. You think Blizzard will leave an era Wotlk server for the 10 people who found it fun ?
Move that thread from cata to classic.
AND NO TO WOTLK servers, they should spend resources on finishing CATA and prepearing Panda release so its wont be same.
I would too. But seems we quite alone. Hydraxian Waterlords are never above 50 players in /who.
Ahh, ye good olde “Splitting the player base” fallacy. Is better people not play than play what they like? If no Wrath Era servers (or TBC Era servers) many either unsub, or go Pserver or Era/HC. Won’t go Cata if they hate Cata.
And why it hurts you that Era is low pop? We play, we raid, we have fun. Same with HC … well for me not Raiding part - dare not
