Please bring back old floating combat text!

I, and likely, many others dislike the new tiny damage numbers ever since they were introduced in Legion. Often times I can’t even see what damage I dealt with a spell or attack just because it wasn’t a crit and just disappeared promptly after appearing. I love the addicting nature of stacking numbers being thrown in your face whenever you go on a rampage on some enemy and it is no longer the case. I hate the melee attack damage numbers animation and I hate everything about this change.
Please, at least, bring back the option to display Legacy damage numbers, it won’t hurt anyone and will make a lot of people happy.

Best you can do is setting this cvar or using Nameplate Scrolling Combat Text

/run SetCVar("floatingCombatTextCombatDamageDirectionalScale", 0)

give this addon a shot

Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll take a stab at it. This and ClassicNumbers is what I’m currently looking at. However, I’m concerned that they will still fall short of the authentic Blizzard pre-MoP damage numbers as ClassicFCT did.
Anyway, will check when I get home. Thanks again!

Thanks, I’ve seen many recommend this one and I’ll try it out. I had tried out ClassicFCT and I couldn’t vibe with it fully, perhaps this one is better.
Regardless, Blizzard could just implement an option to enable the old damage numbers. It just frustrates me whenever things that worked are removed and never brought back. Like why?

AIO gives you access to the interface to configure the built-in FCT.

They probably just didn’t like the old floating combat text and rewrote it to be more efficient and customizable
