We appreciate the efforts to manage server populations during Mists of Pandaria Classic. However, the current realm locks have left many players unable to recover their original characters.
As it stands, if a realm is locked and a player does not have an active character on that realm, they are completely unable to use the character restoration service. This means many characters — including those lost due to deletion or transfer — are now unrecoverable simply because of the realm lock.
We’re asking for a temporary unlock period that would allow players to log in, restore, or transfer their characters. Once that window has passed, you could reintroduce the lock if needed to control server population.
This small action would make a big difference to those of us with long-standing characters currently stuck behind this technical limitation.
Thank you for considering this — we hope you’ll help ensure that players aren’t permanently cut off from their characters.
Hey there. Apologies if it was a confusing post!
When you do not have any characters (active) on a locked realm, it disables the feature to restore your deleted characters. I’ve come across a lot of people who are disappointed that they cannot restore their deleted characters. If we can get the realms unlocked temporarily, people could restore their characters on deleted realms where no character is currently present. Hope this makes more sense!
