Please consider fixing the Bloodthirst scaling 'bug'

Bloodthirst damage does not scale from attack power gained via Improved Berserker Stance, Unleashed Rage, Expose Weakness, or Improved Hunter’s Mark.

While it seems consistent with your reference client and thus is in your ‘Not A Bug’ list, it pretty clearly appears to be a 2007/8 oversight/bug that has no conceivable reason to stay in the game. You’ve made changes to Classic that fixed unintended behavior that carried over from Vanilla to Classic before.

Please fix the Bloodthirst interaction, especially considering the power dynamic of classes in TBC.

Does it scale with other forms of buffs if so I agree completely

It scales with most of what I know except some new TBC stuff. Apparently it doesn’t scale with Improved Hunter’s Mark and Expose Weakness either which hasn’t been mentioned in the bluepost.

It just becomes very frustrating when you get a new talent that increases your attack power (even on the character stats screen) and then it doesn’t work on your main ability inside that talent tree. I’m certain it was never intended to work like this.

Bluepost just got updated with the other spells it doesn’t benefit from lol. You’ve fixed Shaman’s Improved Weapon Totems talent, please fix this, too.

Agreed, this choice makes no sense. ESP with imp berserker stance not affecting it. Seems in line with the “some changes” philosophy to change this interaction

Apparently it’s not even true that it was like this in retail TBC.

It was definitely news to me that it wasn’t supposed to be scaling, I had to second guess myself and run through old documentation and spreadsheets and it all points to this being a bug. Of course the only real evidence is from the game itself but then we can look at any footage of the game from 2008 and calculate from that footage the damage (as above).

When we do that we can see that this is a bug, BT should be scaling with these buffs.

Worth keeping this post active, if you’re a Warrior then it will have an impact on your performance if it goes into TBC like this, so do your part and report the bug (mentioning the video evidence from 2008).

Here is the US post on the topic.

It makes no sense why talents in fury won’t affect furys main ability. there’s proof this wasn’t in original tbc so it shouldn’t be ignored that and feral needs fixes too.

Well that explains why my bloodthirst on my 59 warrior feels a bit off. With max rampage it’s still only critting for 900, same as it did before applying rampage.

Odd design choice/oversight.

Should really be looked at.

Damn we need some more people on this. Of all the Warrior players and nobody is making a fuss about this pretty big bug. Another bump, please report the bug guys.
