Please dont remove addons

I have seen a list of addons they plan to remove, customization addons are also in the list like Plater, Threat Plates, Big Debuffs and more, half of the addons i am using will be useless, this is a disaster, i know many friends of mine that will quit WoW because of this. Myself included. The game is fine as it is, do NOT remove ANY addons for the love of God.

Many ppl can play the game without addons, good for them, but dont take away the choice to use addons if i want, why force us to quit on something we had since the start of WoW? After 20 years this is just wrong move. Please reconsider, i dont really want to quit retail but i will if you force delete addons and play something else that supports the use of addons.

Addons is a huge part of WoW do not take this away.

As a returning player caught up in the nightmare that is setting up a gazillion addons just to participate in raids and M+. Please, do remove addons.

Customisation addons should absolutely exist as an optional part of the game. HOWEVER the problem is that there are addons right now that are borderline or fully mandatory to be accepted into some forms of content (such as DBM, WeakAuras in raid/M+), and/or gives people who are able to process all the info they give specific advantages (WeakAauras, OmniBar in PvP) that the UI was never meant to give. Some of those features need to be made part of the base game UI (such as a simplified personal WA or TellMeWhen function), while others need to be restricted or removed.

They’ve already stated they’re going to crack down on addons, so I think a better idea is to identify what addons are caught in the crossfire, which features of those would be hit, and inform Blizzard so they could find ways to avoid hitting the wrong addons. Or so they could include those features in the base UI.

For example I personally like the nameplate ability icon from BigDebuffs and I would like that to be part of the base game UI for the sake of clarity. Or the ability damage breakdown from Details for the sake of testing and refining talent builds.

If they want to go after add-ons like dbm weak aura I get that but things that are simple customisations those should be oft the table

It´s wrong to remove WA completly for example.
I use WA to show durations , Power and so on with self made customize bars. Also cooldowns and so on only for displaying. This way my char is much more playable.

If you track boss cooldowns and mechanics fine remove it but on the customize part of WA they should change nothing. You see it clearly on the CD manager made by Blizzard you can´t even move it. This way it´s something you can´t use. If i could place it like i want , yes then i maybe would use it. But like it is now i don´t even try.

Addons are super unfriendly for new players, it good that its going away. Wow needs new players.

I don´t know or see how new Players can controll for example Moonkin phases without playing elune or only using standart interface. If there is a good way to build UI like i use now ( Customize everything) then no problem. But atm i hope Blizzard will do like they said, all UI changing Addon´s are still allowed , means also WA part of that. Only tracking should be removed.

But hey we will see in 12.0 not now.

What harm does my allthethings or my pretty minimap does to new players?
Right nothing.

Combat add-ons like weak aura on the other hand.
That is understandable.

Yeah most parts on your side. But don´t forget WA is not only a tracking. It is also used for customize only UI. This Addon is so much more then pure boss mechanic tracking. And i don´t understand why it should be cut out complettly.

If Blizzard give me the same options for customize UI i would not need Weak Aura.

Not WA is bad only the boss mechanic tracking and if Blizzard is doing like they saying only remove Boss mechanic tracking everybody can still use UI custmize of WA.

Yes I get what you mean I just don’t know if they can only cut out the ability to track boss stuff while keeping it possible to track player stuff.

If that’s possible that’s cool.
But on the flip side they also need to work on some specs that are borderline unplayable without tracking a bunch of stuff via weakaura.

yes , you can. And as they said that should be the plan.

And yes if i understand right they are working on better tracking of abilities of such specs. But we will in some month.

My problem is atm all this seams to be half backed. Yes they added a cooldown tracker but you can´t decided which abilities to track , you can´t move it. This makes it hard to test on live servers.
Now displaying of spell visuels also there it is only halfed backed no real tool to use it full like you want.

Yeah it is kinda half backed.

And I honestly think they should ofcourse work on better default tracking but they it would imo better if the spec don’t need me to set up any tracking to play them right on a normal player level.
Tracking every buff and interactions my spells have to get out the optimum should be what you do to get into higher levels of play

You dont have to install or set up any addons to participate in raids and M+, no one is forcing you to use addons!
I know a lot of players who dont use any addons for that.
Why you are vile and ask to take away something that others already wasted time to set up learn to depend on and love using??

The reason you dont get new players at this game is that the game is 20yo with ancient graphics and ppl buy 9800x3d and 5080 to play modern game with good graphics, why spend 2.5k on a pc to play wow ? All the friends i ask why they dont play wow the answer is always the same old game with old graphics not attractive to new players. Addons has nothing to do with this.

The fact is that WoW has outlived its life expectancy by far and its time to make WoW 2, removing add-on is a hasty panic move that will only cause further harm to the game which is heavily dependant on addons especially at high rating PvP and PvE as well.

You won’t get any new players, instead you will only lose old players.

Do NOT remove ANY add-on this is your last warning, reconsider.

Especially retail that is so complex in mechanics and buffs-debuffs in pvp and pve that need tracking it is heavily dependent on add-ons removing them is like cutting my right arm and leg…

No it won’t bring any new players because they need WoW 2 to be attracted not an 20yo ancient engine that is clogged up with talents passives and mechanics to the point that is starting to fall apart with bugs and low performance, you have overdeveloped this game and milked the cows as much as possible, its time to be responsible and finally start making and deliver us WoW 2 or this WoW will die eventually removing add-ons will only make things worse.

You will kill the game, wake up.

Enough time and money i wasted here all for nothing, you cant just remove something we use for years because you think this will attract new players, this is a no-go violation and it won’t be tolerated by many you will see that.

No one is forcing anyone to use add-ons it’s an optional feature already, how removing them will attract new players? This is nonsense

Yes removing Addons will not bring even 1 new player .

But on everything else i heared and feel the counter part. The graphic are a reason why WOW still excist. If i wan´t totally nonsense comic graphic i play FF if i want high end super duper graphic i play a shooter or something like that. Booth of this peoples will never play WOW even if wow would have high power shinning graphic.

Other mmo´s tryed it to be not this complex and better graphic or booth. And they failed. Blizzard must have done many right.

Removing addons only has 1 reasons , open it for console playing. Also 1 click rota only are there to be better for console playing. That´s all.

You like the old school graphics? well i dont really enjoy them but i like the game overall so its not a problem for me, why dont they leave add-ons in place and just make wow mobile or wow 1.5 for consoles and mobiles and leave wow 1 intact?

All i am saying removing the add-ons is a big deal and there will be impact.

A lot of ppl wont like it, WoW was never meant to be playable at consoles, or without add-ons.

Just make a new WoW for consoles without addons or add support for addons at consoles maybe? its not that hard…

Removing addons wont bring any new players instead you will only lose old loyal players who like and depend on using their addons.

They introduce their own versions. Save your energy and complain about them when they come out.

So, actual evidence of Blizzard porting WoW console?

Yes i like the grapic. One reason why wow is unique.

If they do a WOW 2 i think many old players will stop playing cause they are not motivated to start by 0 again.

About Addon´s in WOW: Well lets wait for Midnight and drinking Tea or Coffee untile then. First Season 3 is coming.

The thing is, classes could be made more interestingly designed instead of more complex if addons were more limited and certain functions made baseline.

A few classes are only as complex as they are BECAUSE of addons.

It has nothing to do with addons. People wanted talents so with that comes more buttons.

wow also needs to keep their core playerbase, I hope that a lot of ppl take a extended vacation when they pull the trigger on removing needed addons like cell, weak auras and dbm.

because lets be honest for a sec, all we can hope for is 10% of the functionality we currently have.
