Make the updates a separate, new transmog set. Pls keep the original as well. In many contexts they fit better with other pieces, and let’s not even make a precedent for removal of transmog by “updating” them…

The old sets are most likely gonna remain.
The new sets will probably be a reward for doing the anniversary raid and dungeons.
So it’s not gonna be an automatic update for the sets and the remake sets are something we are gonna need to earn.
Similar to how Tier 6 remakes for tomb of sargeras did not replace the black temple versions.

Yeah, they will not remove the old t2 sets. I have a feeling this will be in their own unique wardrobe category, which won’t be linked to Blackwing Lair etc.

They have not done that before. It’s not the first time that they have updated tier sets, they did that in legion as well, and kept the old ones intact.
They mentioned that you will receive items, including sets, by completing weekly quests. These quests will reward a special currency specific to the anniversary patch.
So, your old t2 will not just magically get an upgrade.
