I’ve been thinking of a full return to retail after classic is done, I would love to complete the Loremaster and Meta achievements of all the old content but…
I don’t want to just one-shot everything dealing a gazillion damage, it would be much more pleasant if the Chromie-scaling extended to the max level so there would also be some actual combat involved.
I’ll make my usual suggestion.
Create an alt for each expansion you intend to finish.
You will be scaled appropriately, and at the end of it, you will have a bunch of fresh 70 alts.
Now, I do think that Blizzard should allow us to scale our level 80s down for old content. Where’s the harm in it? We can do it already through Party Sync, with the help of a friend’s alt who is at the target level. You can, somewhat awkwardly and with limitations, do it yourself by making a free account, levelling to 20, and then Party Syncing with yourself.
So there is no reason for them not to allow it!
But until then, alts are the way to go.
