Please explain new autenticator replacement!

I don’t understand how the new replacement for the autenticator works…

Login into game, code is emited. When I turn on the autenticator, to approve the code, autenticator tells me it’s ending and I have to “go to the new one”. I enter the new one, this asks for email and password, then emits a code… which has to be approved by the autenticator!

So what do I do? And now the autenticator is saying it’s ending, but I see no way around this vicious circle…

The verification code is sent by SMS, to the phone number associated with the account.

However there is a problem with some people changing their phone number and not updating their account to reflect that, and some people just simply aren’t getting the SMS at all.

So… the idea is for, when you login on PC we get an SMS and insert it… in the PC?!

Well… I’m not getting any SMS, and the number is correct…

No.

The verification to validate the new mobile authenticator arrives by SMS. Once the mobile authenticator has been validated, then you use codes generated by the authenticator to log in on the PC.

I am sorry if I am misunderstanding your question, I am working on the basis of quite a few people having issues migrating to the new mobile authenticator built in to the Battlenet App.

Ok… I’ve got to retest this whole thing then. Right now the new battle nep app just sends me to a web page to login… and that sends me a code to the autenticator!

Did you get the notification to approve the login in the old authenticator?

That’s how I did, I just logged in to the new app, approved the login from old auth, done. Then I disabled all the social notifications.

Did you try to remove your authenticator before linking to a new one?

The code displayed is a backup. Normally when you open the authenticator you’ll get an approve/reject button - you only need to input the code if that doesn’t come up for any reason.

The codes too have a limited expiry time but it’s not super short so it may be that the app hasn’t been set up properly on your current device.

If it’s proving to be impossible get past you can get help via this link: https://eu.battle.net/support/en/help/product/battlenet/316

Well… I just removed (3rd time, btw) the battlenet app from the smartphone, reinstalled it and got it connected. And now I saw the new autenticator inside it, and got it to work!!
The “games” tab still has problems, but at least autenticator is up. Thanks for the help, folks!
