So I am playing with a friend of mine in 2s - At this moment we have been really stuck at 1750 rating-ish.
However when we get near the 1800 we recieve an MMR that is well above 1800 where everyone has upgraded the gear already and we just get hammered and slammed.
Will someone please explain to me why it is fair I can get an mmr above my bracket and play against people with ALOT better gear.
And furthermore every other team we meet below 1800 mmr often has at least one of the players with alot better gear.
Do one of us really need to get a booster to get our gear upgraded to stand a fair chance?
I feel like that har brackets for upgrading ALL your gear once you hit a certain rating seems really imbalanced.
Blizzard says they are listening - I am not convinced
brackets is what they call rating range like 1600-1800 challenger and 1800-2100 rival
but can also mean other game types. 2v2 and 3v3
mmr: matchmaking rating. the rating used to meet other players. this goes higher and higher the more you win. you can be 1.4k and if you win like 10 games in a row. you will meet like 1.8k players because you won so many. gear may have something for this if you can faceroll to that mmr.
some players get duelist/elite in another bracket and que for another bracket with that gear and meet players that is lower geared than them. you also have boosters who drops mmr by losing so they meet lower gear/skilled players for easier win for the buyer
You know what a handicap in sports such a golf or chess is?
Normally you give the better player the handicap so the less good player or beggiinnner can start their journy and enjoy the game just as much without getting crushed first try.
Blizzard does the opposit by giving the handicap to the new and casual players, they love it when newbies get crushed (for some reason) and not only let the better player, well be better, no they also give them way more queens so the poor better player doesnt have to “waste time” vs the nubs.
System is heavily favor to boosting services, actually. If u really frustraited and depressed just don’t play it. It won’t change untill u willing to pay and play.
P.S. If u like WoW and LORE play PvE instead. PvE here in not so bad state as PvP. Me, personally, if nothing change will go back into M+ 100% in next expasnion. Mb in next season, already rolled rogue. At least rogue super-viable in 3 expansion in a row. PvP here the last 2 expansion for masochists(nothing personal).
CR - Current Rating (what you see when you open your pvp menu)
MMR - Matchmaking Rating.
MMR is your personal hidden number that’s used to match you against opponents the system deems fair for you to face (with exceptions!) based on how well you perform, your CR gain/loss is determined by the outcome of the match and yours vs your opponent’s MMR.
If your opponent has higher mmr the system think it’s unlikely for you to win and will punish you less for the loss. (or give more if you win!)
If your opponents have lower mmr the system thinks it’s unlikely for you to lose and will reward you less points for the win. (or take more if you lose!)
Eventually after hundreds of games and playing with the same people, your mmr and CR will even out.
Brackets are there to reward you with power increases after you’ve reached a new high.
