Feeling torn about 9.1! Sure it’s nice with new content, disable eye of the jailer and some torghast reworks among a few other things but why the copy/paste from bfa? we’ve already done all this, why do it again? it doesn’t bring anything new to the game.
Lazy devs? Afraid to do something different? Lack of imagination?
Korthia = Nazjatar 2.0
Box of many things = Titanic Research Archive
Also i’d like to point out how depressing korthia looks. Ok it’s matching the maw design and all, but it’s all grey and sad, and I’m not paying to feel depressed looking at grey colors everywhere.
Korthia was brought from the depths of the shadowlands, it could have looked like anything (fire place, ice place, forest place, idk, but something with colors please)
Imagine previous devs having the balls to add m+ in legion, mage towers for challenge, a ton of crazy powerful legendaries and trinkets, more abilities with no gcd, pet dungeons, invasions for fast leveling, after adding timewalking at the end of the previous expansion, with simple gearing systems. Then you have the decline, which adds island expeditions and warfronts which are instantly gutted because of someones decision and made into a chore, instead of being expanded on properly. Now we have thorgast, which became a joke 2 weeks into the expansion. They added twisted corridors and made it obsolete 2 weeks later. I’m not gonna even dignify a zone which is huge and empty, full of hard monsters that daze you and verticality where you cant mount with a comparison to anything. Even world quests are fewer on a rotation and take more time on average, like giving vampires a meal every other day for the rest of the expansion. Where are the boss killing dailies? Why everything has to be long, boring and tedious? Why new and experimental things are illegal?
Depends on the devs. I doubt the actualy programmers and designers are lazy about their work. The lead devs, more likely lazy, could just be that they have internal struggles, which it honestly seems to be the case right now, with all the confusion, convoluted solutions and increasingly stranger decisions lately. It seems that not even the leads devs know what to do.
Definitely not the case. They do something different every expansion and even now with domination sockets. The bigger problem is them not listening to the players’ feedback about the new thngs they come up with, at least when it comes to the bigger things, because the little things like mounts in the Maw get fixed every now and then. Whether that’s just pride and unwillingess to accept that their ideas might not be that great after all, or flat out ignorance and disinterest in listening in the first place, is anyone’s guess.
Partly, and on top of a lack of foresight as to how it’s going to turn out, because for some reason, they players can see usually it while the leads devs apparently can’t, or refuse to.
Classic was a success, and “long and tedious” is pretty much the definition of Classic. My guess is they tried to emulate it, but forgot that retail and classic are almost two different games at this point with a very divided playerbase, and mixing them together simply doesn’t work.
I’m almost scared to ask how long it takes you to do anything if a 7 month long patch cycle is too short for you.
It’s use to be beautiful place.
Once it’s got chain pulled, it’s changed, cos of Jailer. Kinda more interesting to play game when understand a bit lore, when leveling main, try to listen to lore?
There are tons of different places in game, cannot it’s be everywhere as rainbow.
Lack of Rewards I guess… A toy? A Pet? a Title?
The only useful reward was the maw mount and now it doesn’t even matter. TC is dead.
What could revive it? Probably the only thing that kept islands expeditions alive: Rewards (Mogs and mounts)
18 floors, 8 layers… for an ugly mount? Oo
colorful =/= rainbows
diablo knows how to do it (despite the outdated grahics, just talking colors and ambience)
here we just have an unfinished, lazy area
lore is not an excuse to make something that tarnished, lore is a choice they made to justify dullness
here it looks like classic eastern plaguelands with a few more trees and a few more polygons
M+ was introduced by Activision in their attempt to turn everything into an e-sport change my mind. That doesn’t mean its bad, but I sincerely doubt it came from Blizzard’s own initiative.
To be fair, I understand why they added the GCD to many skills again. They even said it themselves - it’s macros. In reality, the lack of GCD meant you had less buttons to press, as you’d macro everything on a single button and blast 10 skills in 1 second. Maybe with a revamp to how macros work, we can get legion GCD back, because it was FUN…
Or ideally, I’d just have WoW with a full on action combat. Right now, the GCD feels like trash because we do not have action combat - your character uses autoattacks while using other skills, you can raging blow while you’re rampaging all the while autoattacking. It’s all about 1200APM to see number go higher. We need action combat with weight and organic “GCD”, meaning, you can only do one thing at a time, just like in every single action game - Bayonetta, DMC, Sekiro, etc.
I don’t get the community. Korthia isn’t Nazjatar. Nazjatar was incredibly vertical, with many paths to learn across the entire thing. Navigating Nazjatar without flying was a skill. Korthia is much smaller and straight forward. In many ways Korthia is just a patch zone, but is this bad? Getting new things to do? I think it’s alright.
Box of many things is also alright, and you know why? BECAUSE it is the titan research and the titan research was fine. Blizz should do more recycling of systems that work.
Not every patch or expansion should be a new game. It should be an expansion to the current game.
My main issue with Korthia as with Nazjatar, Mechagon, etc. is that the part of it that interests me are minor. Once again we have a huge focus on farming for cosmetics and mounts and personally that doesn’t motivate me to do content. We’ll see how well it goes, but to me more of the things that I like is good.
It’s not rly macros tho for 80% of the skills they put on GCD, except maybe macroing 2 cooldowns together, what about some defensives tho? When it comes to cooldowns, you have to agree that popping recklessness and waiting a global on a 5 second dps cooldown is just silly stuff and that’s why they made it longer, making the rotation slower in return and more clunky. The moment you pop wings, recklessness you want to hit your target instantly, but you can’t and it feels bad. It’s the same with clones and xuen, on a low haste class that is monk.
As for M+ I don’t even want to debate if it’s good or bad, I think of it as a gameplay mechanic. If you know path of exile, they add a new “endgame mechanic” every league every few months. It might get to a point it’s bloated but it’s also about pushing your boundaries thinking of something new and entertaining. I think everybody expected thorgast to be something like that in a way - a rogue like minigame inside wow, not a side activity that you wanna skip. Same goes for islands and warfronts. You expect more, an investment, a system that’s engaging, like m+ can be. That’s why when I see the systems that aren’t being expanded upon it fills me with disconcert.
