Please explain to me

How a multi-million dollar company can’t fix simple server capacity?

We’re in the middle of progressing sire on mythic and the lag in P1 is so bad, we literally can’t even get past it.

The lag is so bad, we’re getting night hunters at the same time as blood price. Spells are delayed by 5 seconds and this is AFTER telling classes such as DK’s and shamans to not use epidemic and earthern wall.

I feel for you. You should assign a rotation to interrupt the lag casts, it’s the only way.

We tried everything, literally everything. The lag is just unbearable no matter what we do.

If we tell people to not use certain abilities, etc. the raid dies. due to adds not dying or people dying due to lack of heals. If we dont do it, we lag and die to blood price with night hunters ontop.

also, we changed absolutely NOTHING since last raid and we didn’t lag then.

Hmm , maybe it’s a realm thing, i mean i’ve seen some minor delays at some bosses but they where to rarely to bother …
There are some tools to check latency aka ping with your realms or with their servers .

Billion, not million. And the reason is that you wont unsub because of the lag so theres no reason to spend money fixing it.

The reason is the amount of procs, auras and compiling data the server has to handle due to game design.

Not the actual servers themselves.

I hear you. I just got instagibbed on 2nd boss on a +13 SD because of the server hiccups this evening. ¬_¬

Because the company is using the money to open/develop new games instead of putting it back into the game.

I’ve noticed the lag as well in CN for all bosses.

Ion must’ve tripped over some servers when hiding from management.

It’s been explained to death. Preach did a good video on it, then ion said he was pretty much spot on in the interview they did. Blizz has the best servers available, there is literally no better out there. You dont just “add” more servers, that’s not how it works. You dont just chuck in an extra engine to make your car quicker. Or throw another lan cable in the back of the pc to double your internet speed.

Mmo’s are extremely complex and demanding on hardware. Every time you hit a mob they run hundreds of calculations to work out your damage, almost instantly. Add in another 20 players, and that calculations server side increase dramatically. Servers get throttled and data takes longer to reach the player. It sucks, but it is what it is.

ah, so that explains how it can work fine on one day, but then on another day it doesnt?

That explains why we can have this issue making the game unplayable in one instance ID, but then after running outside and waiting 30 minutes for the soft reset, the problem is magically gone?

We’ve been experiencing the same problem for the past couple of weeks. And it only happens on thursdays (we raid thursday/sunday/monday). There was some talk about shaman Earthen wall totem being fixed but we had it happen on every single one of our pulls tonight. It’s not really causing us to wipe but it’s still annoying af to deal with on every single pull of the night.

Having the same issues. For us the lag only happens on Thursdays.
