Please explain why Vrykul or Ogre are not playable?

Vrykul, Ogre, Naga, Furbolg, Quilboar, Gnolls, just a few playable races of the top of my head that would make sense to have them added. I mean Ogres are a Warcraft 2 race and Chris Metzen was opting to make them playable instead of Goblins in Cataclysm but he ended up choosing for the latter

And then comes along these new devs who have no utter respect to the game and are looking to implement their fanfictions or fetishes in some cases. Just one look at vulpera and you can see why they’re added in the first place. All these subraces, yes, subraces were introduced as literal WHO’s, they were not part of the lore and were just brought up out of nowhere.

First, highmountain, lightforged, mag’har and dark iron could’ve easily been introduced as a customization for their former races. But Blizzard thought “hey if we give them a mundane achievement and a transmog 99% of them won’t even end up using we might increase MAU’s”.

I showed Vulpera to an old Warcraft 3 designer and he legit thought they were an april fools joke and thought they weren’t real.
Then you have fat humans, half robot diaper gnomes and zandalari who have been retconned into being dinotopia/jurassic park and wakanda.

These are the worst decisions ever and it shows, that you just drop them in Orgrimmar at level 10 with a small cutscene because even you realised their backstory isn’t much to justify making an introduction zone to them.

Oh and Nightborne? Yeah, their city was sunken, their civilisation lost. Somehow people are okay with Nightborne retconning Maiev’s storyline in Warcraft 3. Technically the only Nightborne you’d find would be dead and laying on the ocean floor. Also Highmountain shouldn’t exist either because the Broken Isles were just a bunch of islands that were haunted full with ghosts and demons.

There’s an artifact in vanilla where the Dwarves dup up an ancient relic from the SUNKEN RUINS OF SURAMAR.

But yeah, we got another variation of a hecking elf so it is okay, right? Not to mention the lore abomination called void elves and the justification that high elves were never playable because of their small population lore wise but then you go ahead, suck some lore out of your thumb and make a small variation of that already small population playable, like where’s the logic on that one?

So yeah, why aren’t any of the cool races added? Why must I endure all these bad decisions? This is why I love the original races, they all had their own thing. I can’t say much about the subraces, they’re all bland, unoriginal and seem to be based on pop culture reference or straight out ripped out of a marvel movie. Although I do like Kul Tirans, their ingame model and customization is stupid.

they cant even get it in to their heads that having a wb causes huge lag and wrecks everyones day, every wednesday. They cant fix tab targeting to not target a yellow mob rather than the two you have aggroed and a billion other errors than a 10 year old would have worked out. You want them to add more races?

I imagine its to do with the amount of work it would be to get the armor to fit all those races.
Pretty sure it would be easy to implement them if people were happy not to have the option to change their clothes!

Because reasons.

Naga, Vrykul and Ogre NPCs can be seen wearing tier sets.

I would had preferred Vry-kul to Kul-tiran.
One is way KUL-er than the other.

Though I would had liked the skinny Kultiran option

Why? Why would it make sense to have them added?

These races are much older and part of the wow lore for 20 to 25 years. That’s why. Not to mention Ogres are actually a part of the Horde

Soooo… they exist. That’s your reasoning? Trees exist in the game. Stones too. I’ve also seen butterflies in the game.

They exist and Ogres are already allied with the Horde.

Also yeah, them solely existing is already far better than sucking out extra lore or retconning it to bring new races in. Not sure why you thought that would be a good argument.

And then you’re just going to randomly assign allegiance to either alliance or horde for these races?

It’s not an arguement. It’s trying to find our what your argument for making them playable is. And all you have so far is that they exist. Which doesn’t seem to be a very convincing argument.

Obviously devs/writers need to show their creativity here, which is lacking with the other races so far.

I feel like you’re just spouting whatever just for the sake of argumenting but yeah I do think it would’ve been better to work on established races than introduce new ones and having to retcon the lore around them.

Well, if you bring forth suggestions then you should be able to explain as to why this would be usefull or make sense and be able to defend your arguements. If you can’t do that then maybe work that out first instead of getting sore when someone asks you some really easy questions about your proposal.

So far all I can see is that you just want them to be playable. That’s really all there is to it, and that’s not actually a good reason.

Well, they’re cooler, more established, don’t need to go back and retcon things to add them, they have a bigger background, interesting characters and a lot of people have asked for them, but for some reason you’re so fixated on a certain part I said that you come off as being obtuse about it.

Because you’re not actually giving any reason. What you’re really saying is, really all you’re saying is, that these races would make more sense then coming up with new ones.

But maybe “because I want it” is reason enuf for you, so I’ll just leave you in peace then.

Isn’t that the whole point of new races getting added? Why do you think they added blood elves and goblins? Really not seeing your point here bro.

Ok then. Why do we even need new races? Why is it better to come up with a bs story about why for example the Naga are now allies then coming up with a new race alltogether? How do you decide who they swear allegiance to and why? How would you justify adding 6 new races to the roster?

Thank you for agreeing with my OP
I have the same questions as you. Glad you agree on these subraces.

Well, that’s one way to dodge a question.

Well you basically agree with my stance regarding subraces.
