They lost them long before that.
Because of the bloat, a mount is just a number in a long line and another checkmark on a list. I have almost 800, and even that is at least a few hundred less than the total obtainable ones.
I remember when it was really uncommon to watch someone on something as simple as another races mount. A dwarf on a horse, human on a ram, undead on a kodo, tauren on a wolf etc etc.
I played a lot during 2 weeks now and I got on average 1 mount a day, playing 5-6 hours a day or so.
Still missing a lot and I also farmed old instances before.
So it’s not gonna have a lot of impact.
Good thing for me is I went for specific mounts like Fiery Warhorse, Midnight and Invincible and got them. Could have taken years otherwise.
What do you mean by bought? You get this mount for 3k m+ rating I cant remember having to pay for it anywhere

I managed to grab some (particularly at the start, I was really lucky and probably it was that what got me hooked), but later on I was rather unlucky, and my prey eluded me despite farming like a pro with 10 characters.
I got Midnight on the penultimate attempt this week, on the 9th character. Felt good.
But yeah, I’m happy it’s over and hopefully never comes back.
I understand those who put far more time into some of these mounts which I almost got casually. I’d also agree they’ve lost some of their value.
I don’t understand the thing caring what other people have. I only care about my own collection. Don’t get me wrong you are fine feeling that way. I just can’t relate.
I didn’t need a single mount from this event and have been living my best tmog farming life during this event. I only had time for the raids so would love this to come back again. Even if it was one expansion at a time.

The same reason some other events also have ended before .the event itself had nothing to do with season offering or season 3 in the matter .
Because that poster was on about people getting easy rewards and buying them when they did exactly the same.

My guess it return midnight season 2 or 3 when numbers go down, it just to good
and easy to switch back on. Since it then adds dragonflight too.
The trail of corpses and low level alts wearing nothing on their way to
sanctum of domination, not to mention the huge piles of corpses outside
the entrance just show how popular it was.
Just being in Oribos and looking around at all the other players
felt like it was at the start of a current expansion and not a past one lol

i think the reason he wants it anther week is so he still has some actual reason to play till 11.2. i never understood why it ended the week be4 but i have all the mounts the qualify as amerdrasil isnt on that list
i agree with this, it could also be extended to the vicious saddle for OLD pvp mounts maybe instead of 2% per 3/6 wins in solo shuffle and blitz win its 4%. that might curb the frustration of the wait times
