What is the reason that the event ends one week before 11.2?
The only mount I needed from the event was N’zoth mount and I have killed the boss 44 times. After all those runs I am still missing the mount and it makes me even sadder that I “lost” this increased drop chance.
I think that in my situation I would be more happy if the collector bounty buff never existed because it gives me the strony feeling of lost opportunity
Why don’t you just extend this buff by one week
?

44 is still low to be fair and i know thats not what you want to hear but others are on 100’s of kills and not got it.

Nah. The next week we have 11.2 so I can see the reason to end the event then
I think extending it only will make me more anxious
It have tried to get G.M.O.D from BFA every week with 4/5 alts. It depends on my availability. So far nothing

Considering I have killed this boss over 400 times before the event, those 44 kills are enough for me xD

I think no matter what the deadline we’d like to see it last longer. I’d love this to be tied into TW so that the expansion in question would get a boost that week.

make it permanent like legacy loot just make it legacy droprate on top

The event will be back at some point.
It costs Blizzard nothing and has pumped up engagment numbers massivly.

…I kind of don’t want it to end, but at the same time need it to stop …… as it is eating into my time SO much and I am not switching off due to the … ooh, let’s switch alt to see if I get lucky
I am usually disciplined with my time, but all the shinies I am getting keep me there …perfect guinea pig I know for them!!

Same here. It’s too addictive. Perhaps they could do it for one week every three months or so.

It’s a sad story, this, but imagine all the thousands out there with unfinished business?
Look at it like this: It’s a series, your attempts to acquire this mount.
Your odds of attaining it gradually increase as the serie progress.
First time you have let’s say 1% success.
That would be 99% failure.
So then the first this run was 2% success and 98% failure. Or whatever.
Even though every time you run this you have only 1% success, seen as a serie you will progressively improve your odds.
0.99^2 = 0.9801 = 98.01% failure after two runs.
0.99^100 ~ 0.366 = 36.6% failure after a hundred runs (in total), which is the equivalent to:
64.4% probability of success after having run 100 times.
But you must note that each run you only have 1% to succeed even if you have run it 100 times. You may only go to 100% as you approach infinity. Yes, some would say it never reaches 100% but that’s false, it does, and that’s because you can see that the probability increase is larger with each increment of distance traveled; meaning that the growth gets exponentially quicker with each increment as the number of attempts goes towards infinity, which proves that given enough attempts you will succeed. But no, a thousand is no where near infinity (it’s high af though, in this context). 10000 is more like it. If you haven’t gotten it by then I think we will all be surprised.
So like… If you had 2% and then 1%, it would be:
0.98*0.99 = 0.9702 = 97.02% failure equivalent to 2.98% success.
So… seen as a series you have improved your odds for the future.
And yet you need to realise that you always have 1%, so yea… it’s a bit of a bummer that this ends and all that. Good luck though and it’ll all come true, until it doesn’t anymore.
I’d suppose they end the event early to give the max feel to the start of the new era. Like it would suck a bit if the drop rate lowers with the new season, dulls the rush.
I’m not sure I can deal with the disappointment for another week.

Once per expansion would be fine.
Adding in the newer legacy raids each time.

I’m sure the event will be back again. I am fairly certain the Blazing Drake still won’t drop for me this week (I can only face so many dragon soul runs a day!) so I hope it returns.

Hell to the no!
They gotta wait at least like 5 years before this collector’s buff affects the new expansions, players are still doing hundreds of runs through Dragonflight raids each week.
Not because it’s fun, it’s just the power of rare items.
Let them keep their power, everyone shouldn’t have access to everything.
The rare mounts lost all their “power” as soon as they changed them from “you need to kill the hardest boss to earn them” to “you need to get lucky and win 1% lottery while doing old raid solo”

So glad it ends after this week and hope it will never return again. Damage has been done though, transmog and mount instance farming will be on hiatus for most players who now will be waiting for next event… sadly, including myself… made the mistake by farming all those mounts raw before the event and now consider it as a time waste never to be repeated.
One regular activity is now dead outside the event. This is not good for the game in the long run.
Blizzard opening more and more pandora’s boxes lately.
