Please fix clipping!

I am trying to choose a mage set for transmog but there are so many sets that clip with long hair! Season 11 set, season 13, season 4,…please fix this as I really like the sets on long hair :frowning:

Hopefully you won’t have the issue after the new costumizations arrive…Can’t wait to make a forsaken without bones showing

Its horrible and hurts a lot. Especially with some shoulders and my legendary DH tank weapon. Horrible!

Don’t use a set make your own  thts the fun part of tmogging

Still plenty of pieces that cause clipping though

Welcome to old gen games I guess!

They don’t fix those unless it’s a major issue and people are very vocal about it (aka US forums)

The technical difficulty to fix clipping on all armor is an enormous undertaking. It’s the limitations to the old game engine’s physics which is the issue, it does not support much flexibility to make for example hair flow to the sides of an armor piece. To make something like this work the developers would have to basically make a whole new engine, and that is what consumes the most amount of time when game developers are making a new game- if they decide to build it from scratch. If they decide to use an already existing engine like Unreal Engine it’s of course significantly less work. Not that I think Blizzard would use UE3 or UE4 as they would have to pay Epic Games for every copy sold, but also because Blizzard probably wants show that they can get the job done themselves as one of the biggest game companies in the world.

Yes, I remember the devs a long time ago stated that there is no modern physics engine in the game and it’s something it wouldn’t be able to support.

They have been able to add certain things but ultimately most of the physics trickery is done purely through simulating it in animation and not an engine level control system to mimic gravity, fluids and air.

I just don’t think this is something they can get around and to be honest.

It’s likely that the next one will use a large amount of the Overwatch engine code.

It’s amazing that they have managed to get what they have out of the WoW engine considering it was originally constructed 20 years ago and for a completely different genre of game.

Blizzard?
Fix clipping?

you don’t know the pain of clipping until you’ve played a Worgen or a Tauren with helms designed for flat faces.
