As a new profession player trying to make some gold without millions in the bank, I think I’m speaking on behalf of everyone like me when I say that the auction house needs an automatic system to readjust prices for goods.
Nothing adds up to a solid profit in the auction house right now, You are better off buying the things rather than making them if you are not constantly making 10k of them.
The auction house needs a system rework, it needs to work like the lowest an item can go is 10% higher than the total cost of reagents. And let people check “sell at the lowest price available” so that whenever the price goes down everyone who checked it got their auctions changed automatically.
Yesterday on the Silvermoon AH, I made 4k Deviously Deviled Eggs at the cost of 30k gold and only made around 32k, and before that, I tried to make Dracothyst through Alchemy, guess what? 300 Zaralek Glowspores cost 7.7k and a Dracothyst itself only costs 7k on the AH AND it has a cooldown of god knows how long to create a single one. I’m better off just buying Dracothyst and using them on enchanted crests to hopefully get another one through resourcefulness. Potions are the same too, if you’re not making 100k of them you have almost no chance of profit.
Now I am not against the slow-growing part that the player needs to have patience on, what I am against is wasting 70k gold just to get 73k gold after spending 2 hours creating all sorts of stuff, Players can just go farm WQ for that amount of gold in 10 minutes.
I know everyone who’s trying to get a profession going on understands what I’m trying to say. Just implement a system that no crafted item can go lower than 10% of the total reagent cost that keeps auctions in check.
you should get into farming/buying old patterns and crafting transmog pieces.
some TBC patterns are crazy good and profitable and you farm them by running HC dungeons like mana tombs for example. Pandaria has AMAZING transmogs but mats are limited so takes a while to craft those weapons. Even on the offensive or whatever the gryphon achievement mount is called, you can buy a great polearm pattern with rep. Great selling rate. List goes on.
Doing that since BFA, it’s not about this topic in particular but, even though made around 300-400k gold selling those I can easily say I’ve given almost half of the money back to AH because most of them take so long to sell
And another point for those is the price cutters, When I put a Tmog on AH I search AH prices for them, but After I put something on the AH a day later someone puts the same item at 75% discounted. and Even I contributed that back in BFA for the lich king ghoul pet, it was 80k but then I posted it on 26k and the price was never the same for it after that.
The main focus that I’m on currently are the professions and crafted items though
I used to farm gold a while back and I farmed a lot of patterns and on top of that I was farming dungeons for transmog. I had 1500+ auctions posted and items were selling regularly. If you have couple of auctions yeah it’ll take a while to sell anything.
professions in DF are same thing as crafting base legendary item in SL.
You missed train at launch were people exploited and now it is impossible to actually profit from professions because AH whales already earned hundreds of millions of gold.
It actually sucks. Blizzard made richer more richer as usual. Plebs can go quest or do some other “stuff” that rewards little gold.
Sorry but who gave you the authority to speak on behalf of other people? The forums are a place about saying your opinion.
As for the AH, it is a free market, any intervention from blizzard will be quickly taken advantage of and render the whole system broken.
Apart from crests not procing resourcefulness, dracothysts are one of the most profitable things at the moment. With just 5 alts and logging in once a week the profit from a full craft amounts to 100k passive gold.
Sorry but this expansions to make money from professions you got to craft for people and provide services. People that take the time to advertise get a good amount per hour spent (most people are more than willing to pay 2-5-10k for a craft).
Because many people want the “safety” and “easiness” to use the AH, there is too much competition so you gotta spend time and search hard for something that makes profit. Since anything that actually makes profit and people did not find already is a license to print your own gold.
