Please give us something to grind

Something meaningfull, to upgrade gear or progress in a matter that feels meaningfull atleast…

Running m+ doesnt feel rewarding, cause the gear (if it even drops) is not an upgrade and cannot be funneled into the already aquired gear to upgrade, only to disenchant…

Praying for titanforge is booring and burns out faster than the insulst of a 12yo.

Heart of Azerite feels so disconnected from the character and grinding expeditions is chunking on ones sanity …

This is the best mmorpg out there (was at some point atleast) and yet player have nothing really to do but timegated content or grinding something where you have to hope on 4 layers of rng to actually get an upgrade…

There is nothing to do for gear driven people other than mythic raiding that feels respectful to ones time at all… this kills the game guys…

Guildies not attentind, firendlists emptiyng and you know the drill…

Been playing this game for 10 years, did not regret a single day, till bfa.

Sounds like someone might want valor points back? Hmm come to think of it, wouldn’t mind that myself…

Valor points were great.

yes, i agree but they are relics of the past and would not fit into the modern times in my opinion, what i really ment would be something like this:

Something like either your Scrapper idea or a system akin to Tera gear progression would be nice.
For those that don’t know Tera does the gear thing a bit differently.
-Once you reach max level a NPC gives you a full set of gear.
-That gear is enhancable and upgradable to a new whole set once you get it to +6/+9.
-The material needed to enhance and upgrade drops from dungeons/end game activities/daily quests so that requires you to steadily grind to make progress.

The idea would be to bring some kind of material in wow than, when gathered enough of it, would enable you to upgrade your gear for +X ilvl.

I feel like that’d be an incentive good enough to keep people to do dungeons/end game while always feeling like they make progress and not simply hoping for a warforge item.

yes that sounds like an idea but to be honest with you, i dont think it would fit for the current system of gearing out in wow…

everone having the same gear and only upgrade it would be a spicy idea for me atleast but if you have seen the feedback from pvp players on the stat templates (and full precustomized set of gear is nothing else but a template)?

interesting discussion tho keep it going

Hmm there could be some tweak about it. Scrap the template idea, keep all the gear existing but remove all titan/warforging chances. That way people will still hunt for gear pieces with the stats they need for BiS and can keep upgrading it that way.
The material required would also “evolve” with your item, meaning once you reach the ilvl of, say, mythic gear, you’d need components you’d find only in mythic raid or high level mythic key. So that way it’d still keep the same line of progression we already have.

Hmm not bad, but differnciating the materials in quality for diverse difficultys would bring confusion to the casual playerbase and for people coming back and for new people… i dont think this is something blizzard could even advertise its game for due to it being way to complicated for someone who hasnt put in the time in the game.
Thus said it would be no problem for me and I already stated something similar in my scrapper idea. Tho remooving titanforge is not necessary or atleast not reamooving it entirely is necessary.

How about leaving titanforge for everything lfr- and m0-difficulty level and below and restricting it to maximum +5 for above. then bring in some kind of upgrade system (whatever it might be) and set a bonus suocket on the very top of it as the last upgrade?

Ack you’re right, even if the upgrade system is quite simple, I can see how it would be confusing at first. And Blizzard nowadays hates everything that’s not as straight as a line.

To be honest warforging doesn’t bother me but I’d see it as a solution for a lot of people troubles with it. But I’m not against your idea as long as there’s a cap of 5/10 ilvl on your piece of gear.
An upgrade system definitely sounds good in my ear since it means having stuff to do beside praying to the RNG gods. Even if it is for a simple socket as you said.

preach baby, PREACH to the blizzard gods to hear your whispers. ye i think that aswell
