Please help! FPS drops

have some problems with FPS drops on my laptop, bought in September. Normal bgs stable 60 fps, but big ones (Epic bg’s) such as Ashran, Isle, AV fps drops to 40 or 36. Mabye fps drop is normal, because of many units/players spamming abillities which has also and beautiful effects and it does add up?
I checked many guides and videos, but nothing helped to get 60 fps in big areas. Seems every driver is updated except BIOS. Could BIOS effect this drop?
Some people said add more RAM, but will it really increase FPS?

Laptop - Asus TUF Gaming FX505DT-BQ051 15.6
Specs:
Windows 10 pro
CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 3550H (2.1 GHz, 3.7 GHz Turbo, 4MB Cache)
RAM:8GB
SSD:512GB
Video card: NVIDIA GTX 1650 GDDR5 4GB/DOS

Please help, I wanna enjoy game again :’( I am not that professional with computers.

Exactly.

Mass actor scenarios are heavily CPU limited and that’s why FPS drop. Aside of that the server may cry a bit too when you are in a BG and people clump up.

In some cases particle effects and complex zone can be limited by GPU. Thus you could try lower settings (mode) to see if the FPS improve.

You can play with the game settings as the hardware isn’t that bad…

You can do a combat “benchmark” by pulling lots of mobs in TBC Karazan:

Then when you gather them and they clump up - check the FPS. If it’s low then try playing with game settings. For pure CPU limit it won’t help but for some GPU limits it will. If the FPS is higher than in those BGs then those BGs are very likely GPU limited and lowering some settings should improve FPS.

There is an issue that has come up for me who has a month old system that you may need to set the new setting on the Advanced tab they recently added to Auto as this was causing my machine to also have FPS issues it is the option with FidelityFX CACAO on the MSAA setting. I had it on the highest option, not Auto and it dropped my frame rate massively. Turned it on to Auto and the issue was resolved.

This side of spending (way) north of 1000 currency, the main problem (in this case) is… “a laptop”.

While the machine you’re using is primarily used/acquired for reasons other than WoW, WoW will always be plagued with performance compromises.
