Please Help - New Gaming Laptop

Hi all,

I was wondering if someone can help me. I know building your own PC is best but at the moment a laptop suites me better. Ill be honest i’m not really sure what spec i need or where to start.

My budget is £900 and i was wondering if someone could help me out?

I was looking at some on Argos (for those in UK) to name a few;

ASUS TUF FX505 15.6in R5 8GB 512GB GTX1650
Acer Nitro 5 Ryzen 5 8GB 512GB RX560
Acer Nitro 5 i5 8GB 512GB GTX1050

I’m not fused about having optimal graphics at the highest rate possible. I would like to be able to do Ny’alotha or other 20+ riad comfortably at a decent frame rate.

Anyone’s help would be much appreciated.

Those are older gen laptops so I’m not so sure about them. There are latest Asus laptops:

but even this one is bit over budget.

Among cheaper older ones you would have to go for an 7000 to 9000 series Intel with 4 or more cores (6 would be awesome) from non-U family (HK, HQ, MQ, H and whatnot). That older Ryzen 3750H is bit weaker than i5-9300H so any laptop with it should be proportionally cheaper - just note that WoW depends on CPU performance a lot.

As for the GPU I would aim at >= 1060 or >= 1660. 1050 / 1650 can limit you more easily.

Maybe this: ?

This has a better GPU than the latest Asus, but less cores. Maybe there is a 60Hz laptop with better CPU instead of 120Hz screen :wink:

But you can check local shops better, I was looking through geizhals.eu which has limited UK stores indexed (some non-UK shops could still ship though).
