Agreed, it’s really annoying not being able to just use the human form.

Evoker is not for you then, like it isn’t for 80% of the people for various reasons, this being one of the dumber ones imo.

This race/class needs lots of work.

I’ve been playing WoW since 2008. I know how much classes have evolved since then.

It’s fine as it is

If you don’t want to be a Dracthyr, then don’t play a Dracthyr

You can always make a Human Mage

So many posts like this - so explain to me how; without being in Dracthyr form you can cast a Deep Breath?

There is no option to be in Visage form and use Dracthyr abilities because it makes no sense
And there never will be

There is zero chance they will ever change it

And i’m not sure how anybody can ever even think that it should be optional

It is such a ludicrously dumb idea (flying humanoids breathing fire?)

Featherfall + dragon breath
Oh wait, that is called a fire mage

This
Dracthyr gives nothing you then, just the looks… I maen our range and spells are borderline horrible, and have around zero lore, transmog is between the none and the mail
WHY do you want to play a dracthyr if not for it looks?
:person_shrugging:
Sure, no one should tell you what and how to play, but really, why???

What dragon in WoW fights in a humanoid form? Deathwing never used his humanoid form after he went insane.
Alexstrasza only uses humanoid form for speaking
Etc etc.
I think only Chromie is the one we’ve seen fighting in human form in lore

Worgens are bound to their forms due to lore reasons in fighting.
Battle induces it, moonkins are something to do with channeling their Druidic energies.

I get you, hence perhaps the idea for a glyph to only transform into a dracthyr for spells that have special dracthyr animations.

But still, just let us mog seperately already, tearing my hair out here!

no, the visage form (while terrible looking no matter what, honestly it looks like someone who never had any training in design made them) should be a power hungry effect and not something these poor scuffed dragons can keep up if doing anything of note.

The problem is that the looks of the visage or entirely unique to the dracthyr as well, thus those who’d truly like to play for the looks (a part of them to be exact) couldn’t have any other alternative.

Mate, if you can explain to me how a Dracthyr can do a deep breath in the same vein as Onyxia, I’d love for you to explain it. They’re simply too twiggy to form up that much fire breath.

Monk (a class available to the vast majority of races) has been breathing fire since their inception.

C’mon man. You can’t be this silly. People used to say the same about Paladin/Shaman being available on Horde/Alliance respectively, then it happened.
They said Trolls could never be druids, Night Elves could never be mages, then it happened.
They said Pandaren were a joke race and would never be introduced to WoW, until it happened.

We also have countless canonical dragons turning in to whatever race they want, in this very expansion. Chromie has always had the visage of a Gnome. Kalec has always appeared as a regular human. That weird dragon character that’s meant to be Alexstrasza’s 2nd in command has the visage of a bloody Vulpera.

The lore will twist and turn in whatever way the devs feel the wind is blowing on that particular day. It wouldn’t hurt to make it blow in the players favour more often.

That is two entirely different things
A class being available to both factions is more likely and was a sensical change

But having a flying humanoid breathing fire is the most ridiculous thing imaginable

Dracthyr will only ever be able to perform ‘dragon-like’ abilities in Dracthyr form

It will never be changed

Fairly certain the reason dracthyr doesn’t have transmog is because off the different body sized.

I guess that to get those to work they have opted to use inaccessible items slots to apply “armor” models based around the shape you want. Like how some pants are form-fitting while others are baggy.

Well, one could NEVER imagine to make the casts animation Evoker form and then reverse it automatically, similar to demon hunters demon spells, smartypants

Why do people roll a dragon with dragon themed abilities and then complain that it does not look like a Blood Elf?

Possibly because they want to play an evoker class which is available only to the dracthyr. Also the visages of theirs already have a ton of customization options, which is a shame to not be able to use in other than non-combat scenarios.

I’d say that the dracthyr I made looks rather cute in his visage and was someone I was eager to play, however the dracthyr form just… isn’t it for me. Ended up with what I wanted to be my main not even entering the Dragon Isles.

Please remove the Visage entirely. Its not needed.

I’m never going to use Visage until they add Tauren as an option.
