I have a lot of friends who do M+ and sometimes they see me pvp and they want to try. We then queue up as 3-5 with me being the only with pvp items, and it’s just a complete slaughter, even if we outplay the enemy team, we’ll get an advantage for 30seconds and it’s pretty easy for the opponent to recover, a shaman doing 100k dps is a laugh lol.
They will try again for a few bgs and then realise they have about 5-10 hours of getting introduced to the spirit healer… Next day, nobody wants to pvp…
This might seem fair to anyone who regularly does pvp but it’s very unhealthy to get new players interested. Please make unrated BGs more balanced ilvl wise, to help everybody actually play the game. It’s supposed to be fun, that’s why you can use consumes and wonky abilties like shroud are allowed.
And mind you these are not people who are not used to getting roflstomped in a game, some of them are divine/ancient players in dota2, but they think pvp is really unbalanced because the numbers just don’t make sense, they don’t get to see the even playing field at first entry to rated…
I’ve played EvE online. There is no enterance in e-sport (Alliance tournaments) but anyone who get mechanics can get it and even win! Because one of the best balance in industry.
Think the more resonable approach would to raise the minimum ilvl boost in PvP, and do a 13 ilvl jump between the “tiers”
613 minimum.
626 from honor gear
639 from conq gear.
might aswell remove the bots who split up to kill pve mobs for their fragment quest(looking at you ashran losses due to ppl splitting up)
or ignore objectives to make it “fair”
or make the ashran 1k honor quest be tied to player kills like wintergrasp one
for conquest so ppl actually go do flags instead of splitting half the team to do pve
Characters get boosted to 600 in BGs, the 613 gear is dirt cheap in the AH, the 626 gear is 2-3 afternoons of work. After a week you can be almost completely epic geared. Gear-wise pvp has never been that balanced / fair outside of Legion templates.
