Pick up the quest and do the first turn in then leave. Not ideal but it progresses the world state past the dialogue so you wont need to listen to it anymore.

On my alt I said flip it and decided to hand over the 1st part of the quest just so that the NPCs would naff off Dornogal, which works, but guess what, now the questline has you STUCK in Arathi, with invisible walls all around the region, so you’ve got to hearth out…
This questline truly has it all, now I’m scared to see what happens if I ever fly back to Arathi
if u teleport out, there will forever be portal next to table in dornogal and u can accidentally click to get stuck in arathi again until u complete quest. its messy, alt unfriendly.
and nothing in outdoor arathi changes; quest arathi is whole different zone only existing during the questline.
Blizzard really is trying to force-feed you their fanfic-tier writing, isn’t it?
At this rate Nral’s parodies are more coherent than the official stuff.

I was bored so I wrote an addon for you! You’ll find it on Curse under the name Shut Up Danath when it’s eventually approved by their systems.
If you have a special hate for this guy you can mute all of his 11.1.7 dialogue lines by un-commenting ( - - ) the rest of the numbers in the .lua file.

Any chance you could just throw the ID you used to mute him? Possibly also one for Faerin?
I struggle finding the correct ones, as NPCs etc can be muted via Leatrix too.
I find the dialogue funny, because I like to follow the storyline, but I’ve fallen a bit behind, so every time he say “I understand your frustration”, I think “well I don’t, what is she frustrated about?”

omg thanks for providing that ID, had been looking for it for quite a while. I’ll mute him by putting that ID into my copy of the addon MuteSoundFile (which is basically a more generic version of your addon)
And ah, I was only looking on Wowhead, which doesn’t have the name for that soundfile, so searching for Danath didn’t bring it up.
You can mute the dialogues in the Audio Settings. I wish the dragon in Stormwind would be muted as well, along with all daily quests and talking heads. There’s no need to give a voiceover to repetitive content.

Blizz should also silence Faerin Lothar, who gives Wordsoul quests, she has a terrible amateurish voiceover, overly pathetic and dramatic.If I take it with multiple alts in a row, it’s quite annoying.Or at least give us the option in the settings to disable NPC voices in towns.

I wish they’d mute all the mumbling and the sighing and the swallowing or whatever. It happens at the table and also on other places where they know players are gonna stay around for more than a few seconds. Not sure what the idea behind doing this was, if it was meant to make NPC’s feel more alive… well they made them more annoying instead.
