Please reconsider Challenger's Peril Affix

I wasn’t sure where to post this, as I’m not in the Beta I can’t give my feedback there so here I go.

In the most recent news, one of the new affixes decreases the dungeon timer by 15 seconds rather than 5 per death, and this affix is active at all times on 7+ keys. I’m a casual M+ enjoyer, who usually gets to Keystone Hero, so about 2500+ and get all the dungeon portals, and repeat this on a couple alts I’m not very interested in aiming for higher and I’m pretty sure a lot of people do the same. Friends and guild isn’t always available so we have to pug keys, and that alone often causes massive anxiety in a lot folks, because if you mess up things can end up in toxicity and people leaving the key.

Challenger’s Peril adds A LOT of extra pressure with each death costing 15 seconds, that is not needed. A full group wipe currently costs 25 seconds on the timer (obviously a lot more if you have to run back as well) but with the new affix it would be 75, that is more than an entire minute. Leavers are already a problem, but this would just increase leavers even more after a couple deaths.

I know you just came up with new affixes, and I think the 2 new ones are fine, but this one is really not needed… this would cause a lot more harm to the casual key enjoyers, than afflicted or incorporeal, and just causes harm to mental health in my opinion. We all love a challenge, but deaths having more impact than they already do is not the way to go. I’m humbly asking you to please reconsider this one!

Yeah I think the changes overall was a huge step in the right direction, but triple penalty for dying is too harsh on a +7. It also means that there will be a big increase in keys depleting early, because a wipe will cost so much time that the key is instantly dead.

I also think the tyrannical + fortified combo on +10 is bad. It’s just % modifiers on top of % modifiers, unless both of them get a solid tuning pass.

I don’t think its a bad change. Dying has consequences, who’d have thunk it?

Timers are generally pretty lenient anyway so if they are similar to s4 it will only matter for pushers. I did a +9 yesterday where one dps was permanently licking the floor when a boss did an ability and we 2 chested it. It felt like we were doing so poorly we shouldn’t have timed it.

Honestly, the response to that is :

Dont die.

I tried tanking on my warrior. And by doing the pulls other tanks do for +14/15s I finish my 7s and 8s with 15 minutes left on the timer.

If Blizz intends to tune dungeons like that in WW, you will not only have zero issues dying.

But also, you dont need to pull so aggressively. Take smaller pulls, and you have less mechanics and less chance of dying.

15s is fine.

In fact, im so happy Bolstering and Raging are gone that I would take a whole minute off a death and I still would be OK with that.
