Please reinstate Kael'thas's original voice actor to the game

Quinton Flynn, has been the voice actor of Kael’thas since the Frozen Throne expansion and is a much beloved actor within the industry who has recently been the target of a false accusation of sexual misconduct. Despite a court ruling, Blizzard has replaced Flynn with a (currently) unknown actor, replacing his lines both in current Shadowlands and The Burning Crusade.

This is simply a request for the move to be reversed , and preferably an apology from Blizzard for jumping the gun that reinforces the rising popularity of this “Guilty until proven innocent” mentality.

Social media should not have the power to ruin a person’s life (or career) through unfounded accusations, especially such accusations that can leave a lasting mark on a person’s reputation. People have taken their own lives over similar situations because they knew even though they were innocent it was going to haunt them for the rest of their lives.

For Blizzard to make such a choice is to silently stand for everything that’s wrong with social media through these modernised witch hunts; and to not reinstate an innocent man’s work is to silently damn and defame him. Stop giving the (twitter) mobs unfounded power over an individual’s life.

Do the right thing. #RestoreFlynn

Pre-post edit - I had some links to Flynn’s statement on Twitter and an article from Niche Gamer but I’m not allowed to post links.

Agreed, now it might’ve gone through because the patch was compiled before the verdict which is fair enough but it has to change back.

Blizzard do it, its absolute bonkers that you would remove the voice actor like that thats been in your boat for years. Only because of accusations, and to add to it, accusations that were made unrelevant and the person in question innocent.

true, but its funny to me how blizzard has trust on voice actors who have worked for them for years.

Perils of working in VA I’m afraid. You don’t get a permanent wage (Unless it is Audiobooks in which case you get Royalties). You get contracted to work PCH (Per Complete Hour) and then that is you done. You have no contractual obligation to the person you worked for, and they have none towards you. They want to replace your work with someone else’s? They can totally do that. Bear in mind that this has been done before, and without any scandals involved, Dave Mallow used to be the VA for Lor’themar Theron, but the lines have been changed to Gideon Emery’s work. There was no scandal about Dave Mallow at all, it was just contractual change. Perhaps Mallow had other projects on the go, perhaps they had just quit the VA business, but they can, and will replace old VA with newer stuff. It might be a blow to the VA’s pride (I know it would be for me!) but it is simply the vicissitudes of the job I’m afraid.

Here’s me wishing they replaced Ysera’s lines in Dragon Soul with the new VA.
