That does nothing, you still didn’t add anything to the conversation, just be antagonistic, try harder.
Honestly, telling others to “do it the old way then” is not a solution, it’s just an attempt to sush someone who you deem as contrary to you. Of course you know it, that’s why you said it, but I want to leave it clear for anyone who’s reading this that I am the one being treated like this only because my philosophy for a game is different, isn’t it shameful?
Bro you said this like 10 times in this thread already, and you are the one with almost 4.000 posts in this forum, at least with that specific character.
Not saying it in a bad way, just pointing out the hipocrisy. Please be respectful with others, you have done nothing but to point fingers and behave badly.
Because it isn’t a “troll post”? It’s just controversial because people just want everything easy, frictionless and instantaneous, to have everything very convenient for them just so they don’t have to think twice about it.
And ironically the only trolling that can be seen here is from those who disagree with it.
Imagine thinking 4000 posts is actually a lot. Also, since when is 3140 “almost 4000 posts”? Here, let me do the math for you. (I actually don’t remember if the new forums came with legion or bfa). If they came with Legion that means that it’s been a little bit more than 6x365 days ago. 3140/2190=1.4 posts per day. Given the fact that I often posts multiple times a given day, that means that I’m not spending much time on the forum at all. The same concept applies if the new forums came with BfA.
So you are telling me that you have posted much more and your history has been wiped out with the new forum?
Why do you tell me that? I already knew, your account is pretty old, and I also pointed out that it’s at least with this character that you clearly don’t play as much, you might post with some other.
And yes, 4000 posts is a lot, I used to post in the forums a lot in the past and I haven’t reach a 1000 posts between this forum and the spanish one in all the characters, maybe not even 700 or maybe 800, and I was there when the forums changed, so you spend lots and lots more time than me here.
Maybe this is your actual main character and you spend much more time in the forums than actually playing the game (and, again, possibly you post with more than one). That’s not very different than what you were pointing me and others about to try to belittle us.
Idk man, try to not be so dictatorial and aggressive, your only contributions to this thread has been hatred and disruption.
Again, I’m not trying to say it in a bad way, just saying that you are maybe just a bit, just a tiny winy, a little hypocritical.
Clearly you still don’t understand the concept of simple math. My posting history was similar to before the new forums, which would make it less than 2 posts a day. Given the fact that when I do posts on the forums, I then posts multiple times a day, that means I’m not even on the forums every day nor am I posting alot. If you think that is somehow alot, then I don’t know what to tell you. No, 3140 posts over the span of 6 year is not alot. Not my fault that you don’t understand simple math.
Hate to break it to you, but literally every human is a hypocrite. Hypocrisy is the natural state of the human mind.
You have more than triple (if not more on alts) my total posts in the same span of time, you don’t play the game, you post about it on the forums.
And please, if you want to keep talking to me, you would have to behave correctly and stop with the aggressiveness, it’s my last warning, I will simply block your off, since you would have demonstrated that you are uncapable of offering anything but inquisitorial behavior and insults.
While I’m largely neutral on this particular issue, I nevertheless understand where the OP is coming from.
The game and the game world consists of rules. These rules often have a narrative context even if they require some level of suspension of disbelief in order to make sense. You go to an NPC and tell them that you wish to do battle for your faction and they sign you up with a squad to do battle in a contested area. This is the contextual explanation for the particular mechanic of signing up for BGs; if you wish to do battle with the opposite faction you must go to the location in game where you can sign up for such activities. When you move this aspect out of the game world and put it into the user interface you’re weakening the ruleset of the world, and more focus is put on the gameplay aspects instead.
You might think I’m reading a lot into this, and perhaps I am, but that connection to the world is of utmost importance. Consider repairing your gear. First of all, why do you need to repair your gear? The gameplay reason is that there needs to be a gold sink, and perhaps a punishment for dying. The fact that we even call it “repairing gear” is because of the narrative context given to that mechanic. You can’t repair at every NPC either, often you’ll have to visit an armor/weapon vendor or a smith. Would the game be improved if you could repair at any NPC? Or better yet, what if there was a button in your character sheet for instant repair? That would be convenient. But what would be lost?
And we can of course turn the question around and ask: what if more was needed? What if you had to specifically seek out a tailor NPC in order to repair cloth, blacksmith for plate etc. and what if the process of repairing your gear actually took time. Would that strengthen or weaken the game? The answer will differ from person to person. More convenience often means less immersion, yet we wouldn’t want WoW to be a 1:1 representation of the real world. That latter idea is known as “the immersive fallacy”. So you have to draw the line somewhere because it is a game.
