I don’t see how this can be an improvement from the previous system. We were dropping 2 items per boss last night. 2 bosses down, 2 dead loots. I know blizzard nerfed the overall amount of loot in raid 2 years ago, 3 loots for 20 ppl, and I’m fine with that, but for smaller groups that don’t have an optimal comp with every class like ours, it really sucks to kill a boss, and have an agi dagger drop when no one can use it. It really feels like a downgrade from the previous system. While we had fun doing it, spending a night raiding to only get 2 items for the roster the first day is quite unsatisfying.
Not sure why they did this tbh. I mean there’s no way it was just to reduce the effectiveness of split runs for top guilds.
Yep it doesn’t make sense. While I don’t have a strong opinion on personal vs greed/need (even if it’s the same system underlying), dropping unusable things sucks. Really giving me WoW classic vibes (and not in a good way). We disenchanted so many drops in 10 man raids.
It was done when TF was removed.

Removing Personal looting option has completely ruined boss loot pools, you will now get bows when you have no hunters in your group, GG Blizz
personal loot is thing what was destroying game and removing master … group loot and all other options and forcing only personal loot was worst crap ever

If there was anything thats ‘destroying a game’ its the quality of the game it self.
The thing is nothing actually changed for the worse, you think people can ninja now but before they had no choice but to ninja now they can pass loot if they don’t need which helps people more.
Also I remember some bosses drop 0 loot in personal loot probably because of the same issue since loot doesn’t have any target it just goes to void.
This just shows what happens background to players so this is not a downgrade and most upgrade in certain situations.
They made loot more rare when they removed Titan Forging.
They just need to revert back to the way it was before all these stupid loot drop nerfs. I am sure this plays a big part in why raiding is not such a sought after end game activity. Who wants to go spend 2hrs doing group content to either get absolutely nothing or to get loot that is unusable. They brought group loot back now they can put loot drops back to the way it was.
loot shouldn’t be too rare, content should just be hard enough to warrant good loot rewards. no epic handouts
Raiding isnt a saught for activity because blizzard keeps building them around addons.

They have 9+ characters per person in some cases
Yup - my guild had 2 agi dagger drop from one boss without any rogue in the raid.
2 out of 3 drops from one boss being disenchant material at the start of a tier feels horrible
It angers me, that after the whole dungeon, whether it’s normal or mythic, i’m not rewarded with a single piece of armor or weapon… It’s a literal waste of time, wasted 10-30 minutes and it makes me not wanna going dungeons anymore. Currently, i’m joining mostly for quests, recently started doing mythics, but i’m joining them together with dailies… This is stupid system really and it just makes me mad and not wanting to go there again…
That’s exactly what happened to us on Terros. At first we though it was a bug and we gave it to monk/sham but no we realized it was just dead loot. It sucks.
