Rogues still have way too many buttons in the Midnight Alpha. Defensives like Evasion and Cloak of Shadows feel impactful, and timing them right gives a lot of room for skill expression. Feint on the other hand is overloaded with small defensive effects that could be passives and often spammed on cooldown. Pressing Feint just doesn’t feel good, making it a prime candidate for the Midnight pruning.
Why would we want something useful to be removed?
Every button is “useful“ if you try hard enough to justify it. Pressing the Feint button does not feel impactful, and it recharges way too fast. So it ends up being just another maintenance buff to keep track of. It’s exactly what the Midnight pruning is supposed to remove.
It’s kinda dated imo. I don’t know if you are trolling or not, but I do agree.
Either buff it, make it impactful and slap a 30second CD on it, or just remove it imo. I know some people won’t like it though because PvP and skill expression or w/e, but I think it’s a painfully weak argument.
In the end, all Rogue enjoyers appreciate complexity, that’s what we’re known for. Feint might seem less impactful, but as you said, when it’s managed well, it can make a real difference. I wouldn’t be upset if it were removed, but personally, I enjoy the ability and would love to see it stay.
And also why we are the least played class.
What some rogue players don’t understand is that because rogues are the least played class they are also getting the least developer attention. Guess why rogues in the Midnight alpha are the last class to get updates?
Blizzard actually prioritizes the attention classes receive based on number of players that will benefit. And Ion also mentioned in an interview recently that they prioritize classes with less dps spec choices (hybrids) during balancing patches. Rogue players that enjoy the “exclusivity“ of being the least played class are only really hurting themselves in the long run.
Without feint rogue is dead.
Evasion is easy to be dealt with just throw us a CC and there we go.
Cloak is situational only vs casters and still sometimes i get this bug where some spells persist through it.
Why don’t you even read the main post? Feint should be replaced with passives, similar to what other classes got.
Yes i did and all i read was “hur dur hur feint”.
You are crying about feint as DH who has tons of passives to heal him.
Play a rogue and see for yourself how fast you die.
Even if you pre feint a CC with the honor talent you die sometimes.
I literally never press Faint and i dont have any problem staying alive ![]()
But i agree that pressing a button should feel impactful in some way
Well, actually my rogue is top 100 right now, but that does not matter for the discussion at all. Feint is a badly designed cooldown that should be replaced with passives.
Reading comprehension issues. He’s not arguing for it to be removed due to it being too strong and he’s mad as a DH. It’s a boring button that does the same thing passives or buffs to other abilities would solve. I’d rather have other survivability buffs than having to press this boring button.
I personally never thought feint was a button too many, maybe expose armor was, and ghostly strike, I would 100% take a simple rotation back and disarm with smokebomb over “rofl the bones” and “between the eyes”
you can just press feint anytime a big aoe is coming to help the healers out or if you can’t move in time, I’m always using my damage reduction proactively, trust me I also play a healer they appreciate it and know who the bads are taking the extra damage.
I put that down to added rotation complexity, damage ramping and well tbh boring hero talents and why are blizzard still shoehorning 2 out of 3 specs into daggers, seriously…
also why did blizzard tack buffs onto coming out of stealth all it does is counter intuativly make utility (vanish) offensive, rotational adding unneeded complexity when it has been and imo needs to be PURE utility like it has been for again decades
