Please restore Thrallmar Mage to previous status

Before this week, when you spoke to Thrallmar Mage in Horde’s portal room, he would sent you to the Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands.

Now it’s no longer a case. Now after speaking with him you get send to the old Outland on the other side of thr Dark Portal. Bonus points - you can’t even use the portal to return to Blasted Lands, because the portal does nothing, so the only thing you can do is use another portal back to your capital.

Thrallmar Mage was a great way for players to get in the middle of EK continent, specifically to Karazhan and Blackrock Mountain and now it’s gone. Now you must fly from Twilight Highlands or use Booty Bay boat which are not as convenient. That’s not cool, please fix it.

Status update: Apparently if you have Draenor quest in your log, you can go downstairs and use another NPC to get ported to the base in the Blasted Lands. It’s a good workaround, but only works if your character have not completed that quest, otherwise NPS won’t port you.

I’m inclined to agree with you, i used the mage and also got ported to outland, with was my goal but it would have been nice to land in BL

my dear. its does something. its a literal WALL - nerfing things like this is the blizzard way. at least it looks pretty xD

Yeah this does seem like a really random and strange change, wonder why this happened

I heard you could skip the entire intro to WoD by ignoring something early on. Maybe they made this change to discourage that? in which case I could understand the random change.

If not and it’s purely random then yeah - random changes for the sake of change are always bad.

I could use it on some characters but not all. Had something to do with whether or it that character had done the quest line or not.

I’ll have to investigate tomorrow and see who can do what. Zombies permitting.
