Please STOP Aggro Dumping on Other Players!

My main characters are tank classes. Generally speaking tanks single target damage is not so great, so I tend to favor pulling between 3-5 mobs & then AoE’ing them down. The most common cause of death for me is not over pulling, but rather other players dumping their aggro for me to deal with.

I see this far too often. Random player comes running by to collect chests/nodes/objective or what have you, pulls a load mobs, makes a B for me, dumping the mobs in my AoE, & then the player carries on their merry way. :unamused:

I can somewhat understand members of the opposite faction doing this, though its still a bit of a “douche bag” move if you ask me. But its really disheartening to see members of my own faction doing this too… Equally if not more. I really don’t mind lending a helping hand if it’s needed, I frequently wade in to help out others. But to just drop by, only stopping to heal your self, then running off leaving me with your problem… That kinda takes the mick! :weary:

I already play very cautiously whilst in the Maw, only pulling one or two mobs at a time. Now I’m afraid to drop Death & Decay or Consecration.

Please folks, show some consideration for others around you… Don’t go running through other players with a train of mobs chasing you.

This happens to boomkins 100% of the time in The Maw too, because Blizzard added a nice line on the ground that essentially says go here to kill druid.

I can’t help but cast starfall. Convoke the spirit does it for me. All I can do is disable the buff before droves of haters pull their mobs to me.

And starfall is an abhorrent design, where anything within 45 yds range and combat with anything will be hit.

Gotta agree. Even i got fed up with the aggro dumping. I also had issues where people would tag mobs that i have and not help me to kill them just run off to tag other mobs, at that point i just reset the mobs, they can kill the elites without me tanking.

Good choice.

I tend to do the same if people act this way.

If I attack an elite I at least keep helping out instead of just bumping the hp up.

I wish people would do this to me, since prot is broken af in open world.

The problem I keep having is pet classes like warlocks pulling aggro off of me.

Yeah, this way more annoying whilst in the Maw… Not only are there wondering elites, fast patrolling mobs on mounts & re-spawns to be aware of… As well as the “Eye of the Jailer” mechanic, AoEs crashing down from the sky, assassins & angels of death to contend with… You’ve also gotta watch out for other players & god knows what they might be bringing with them.

Didn’t you get the memo? That’s all part of the dangerous feeling, the immersion.

“Now you need to plan your route”, but wait, I can just run through an AoEing tank - fixed (p.s. I don’t do that ;)).

It’s how I WPvP with warmode off in the Maw.

Happens to me on my Demo Lock too… even more annoying when the mobs are grey.

I often just ride off into the sunset if people do this. I’m not killing your mobs for you!

I don’t mind as long as people stay to help out. Especially if I’m farming leather, the more corpses the better. I also tend to grab aggro from others if they look like they’re getting pounded.

If they dump and run, then it’s shadowmeld time.

Have to collect 5 nodes and kill 12 mobs, what’s the most efficient way for me to go about doing this…

…tag mobs my faction is killing, focus on nodes that others are going for but had no idea I was watching them and knew they would aggro the mob close to that node.

Consideration, all it does is waste your time.

Don’t complain about aggro dumping but instead take advantage of it.

It’s a video game so be efficient, those that pass judgment on you for doing so are ”skilled” capped.

The pain is real. I have experienced this more times than I would care to count.

Also @Canabal. There’s a difference between tagging mobs that others are already fighting compared to actually pulling a butt-load more mobs & dumping them for another player to deal whilst you run off. :stuck_out_tongue:
