Well, the ones in the sandy areas have a specific dismount ability, and they are intended to stop you flying without thinking. I don’t think this effort succeeds, but I do at least understand it. Once I understood them, I (pretty much) stopped getting dismounted. Most of the ime, they are not hard to avoid.
The seagull-successors in the rest of the zone are annoying, in that they may aggro too easily, but I don’t find them dismounting me.
yes, it’s you. Invest in some leather barding and don’t fly so close to a huge swarm of oversized ebon seagulls.
Working as intended then. Or did you think enemies are just going to gasp in awe as you flutter past on a flying horse?
“Oh we can’t attack him, he’s on a flying… whatever it is… I just DON’T have the heart to do it…”
If it was up to me MORE enemies would be likely to shoot you down instead of just flapping around as if you suddenly stopped existing because you hopped onto a flying mount.
Ground guy. “there she is!! THERE SHE IS! BREAK HER HEAD OP… Oh… where’d she go? Oh she went up there? Oh she’s only a few feet away!!! Dammit how am I supposed to get her now!! I may as well go back to aimlessly wandering around then…”
It’s really annoying when you’re trying to get to the Dune bosses before they die and you get besieged by Heralds (I think that’s what they’re called). They have great dismounting skill - the higher you fly to avoid them, the more fun they think it is to tip you off your mount to your death and, by the time you’ve ressed, the Dune boss is dead. Almost every single time.
Those god darn raptoras in ZM are the bane of my existance, just scattered around everywhere and once one aggroes onto your they chase you across half the zone. Annoying little buggers.
Hehe! those raptors are the ones that annoy me, especially following for ages and even feign death doesn’t work as they target my pet or pocopoc. The sand area ones I have finally got the hang of how to fly over that area, so less frequent dismounts - keeps me on my toes though!
I havent even bought the daze immunity equipment yet, it annoys me, but then I forget about it.
Those raptoras are the worst. This is the worst mob design in the game. They are hard to spot. They are extremely slow (pull one and go around a pillar, takes like a minute for them to reach you, enjoy it if you pull a bird 50 yards away when you dived for a chest in a lonely pillar), they are everywhere once you start lifting off and their daze chance is about 90% lol.
I remember trying to reach that rare bird up in the air, just to pull an almost invisible raptora dazing me splating me.
Ah yes, I forgot, if you pull one and a pet taunts it while the pet is on a pillar or a rock, if stars align, it will result in permanent combat. Like those tiny bees 500 yards away when you kill a maw caster mob or loot a chest. WHY ARE THEY AGGROING ON STUFFS THAT ARE NOT CLOSE TO THEM?!
I have this Mount Equipment. Being Shaman I don’t need the Water Walking one.
The birds do dismount me sometimes though if I hover in a stupid place, usually when I alt-tab to Wowhead so find some co-ordinates or something and tab back to find myself in a fight (if I’m lucky, dead if not).
This is a concern for what they’ll be doing in Dragonflight. They’ve said that they like how ZM works as a open world zone so I expect we’ll be getting more aerial hazards in DF as we’re getting Dragon Riding early (if not at the start).
