Please stop punishing me for leveling my command table companions

Last week the soul ash mission was hotfixed so people could actually complete the lvl 20 mission. Unfortunately for me, my companions were too high level and the mission spawned as level 30 and was not winnable. After another week of diligently leveling my companions, the mission has now respawned… as level 40. Utterly undoable as Kyrian. My highest champ is level 37…

In fact, 75% of missions on my table are now undoable. Even the simple anima missions have 10k health and 500 attack. My strongest team has barely 7k health and 750 attack.

Meanwhile my necrolord alt has it so easy. The team is several levels lower but has almost the same health and over 900 attack, while having abilities 1.5x - 2x as strong. Necrolords support troops are also a lot better and synergise extremely well with Emini’s abilities to do ridiculous damage.

Here’s my review of all the Kyrian companions:

Kyrian halberdier
Their ability is very weak compared to the necrolord ranged troop, doing about half the damage to only one enemy in stead of all backline enemies

Kyrian phalanx
Reduced damage taken by at most three troops by 10%. Night farle troops reduced damage done by all enemies by 20%… how does that even compare

Kleia
Actually pretty good. No complaints

Pelagos
Very low health and attack compared to marileth (lvl 35 marileth has 1350/270, Pelagos lvl 37 1175/188)

Kythekios
Hot garbage. Even at 36 his aoe only does 46 damage. Gorgelimb’s aoe does 270, on the same cool down.

Nemea
Her ability does 135 damage to a single enemy. Necrolord has 2 champs with higher health/attack that have abilities that do higher damage to multiple targets

Sika
Would maybe be good if they weren’t lower level by virtue of being obtained later. Because they’re lower level they always go last, after everyone has already used their aoe abilities. Even if that wasn’t the case, their ability adds less than half the damage Emeni’s second ability adds, and doesn’t synergise nearly as well with Kyrian companions and troops

Teliah
Her ability does almost double Nemea’s damage, so that’s a positive, but the heal is absolutely tiny.

In conclusion, progressing through the Kyrian adventure campaign has proven incredibly frustrating. Adventures I do with ease on my necrolord character have been difficult or impossible on my Kyrian character. The higher level my companions get, the more difficult missions have become, without any substantial increase in rewards. The worst offender is the soul ash mission, which I have yet been able to complete and is now a level 40 mission for me, when my highest 5 companions are level 30-37. A fix for this is long long overdue

It’s stupid but they probably level up from doing campaign-missions on command table. Just stop doing them until your companions catch up or until they balance mission tables.

I throw my Ardenweald guys in
Look if one of the two stats is higer then the other( atleast 100-200 higer) and just send them

nothing has fallied yet

i dont really know how the mission table works, honestly

I honestly don’t understand why all covenants don’t have the same abilities with just suitably renamed characters to fit their specific zone/covenant sanctum. Why did they make NF/Necro strong and leave Kyrian/Venth to struggle.

You would think they’d have balanced these things by now, seeing they’re rather important… but nope. Now with the holidays starting… more wait.

It’s criminal that we’re over 4 weeks into the expansion and Blizzard has left one of their self-decided “main features” completely unbalanced. I know people who want to swap from Necrolord but aren’t doing so because of how frustrating the mission board will be when they swap.

The system is a sham, even for those people who like to engage in it.

it is not stupid but logical.

plus Kyrians get healer this week from thorgast (at least i got 1 from L8) which heals and buffs hp - should be much better once he is leveled up .

its not one of main feature - its just a little bit rep , ap ,gold and ash - meaningless when you can get 1140 from thorgast itself and that difference between r3 and r4 legendary is just a tiny amount of stats .

That’s why I said “self-decided” main feature. I don’t think they are, but Blizzard marketed them as such as included them in material such as the Survival Guide which lists them alongside other main features such as Torghast, Covenants, Soulbinds and new Dungeons/Raids.

Blizzard would never put them on such a high pedestal alongside the aforementioned if they weren’t considering it a “main feature” of SL.

You missed out the Anima cost of healing your Adventures. It’s insane!

The ardenweald units are ‘‘op’’ because the melee troop has an ability that reduces the entire enemy teams damage by 20% per troop every other round

So if you have 4 trappers and Dreamweaver you essentially have 80% dmg reduction every other rounds + doubling your entire teams dmg every few rounds. Thats why night fae players have it so easy

Glad I choose Ardenweald then. I’ve just gotten to the mission table but haven’t run any missions yet.
I choose Ardenweald mostly as it was the zone I had least frustration navigating whilst levelling. Hoping I don’t need to do much in the other zones until flying is available…
Meaningful decisions in game.

The “Kyrian has no healer” complaint is a total red herring. Kyrian not having a healer is not the problem, the problem is that necrolord units can just one or two shot the entire enemy front line, and Kyrian can’t. A heal for 75 every three turns when the enemy is doing at least 500 damage per turn isn’t exactly going to turn the tide when it comes to mission win ability.

Covenants as a whole needs a re-shaping.
I feel bad everyday for picking Necrolord, something I love in theme - but hate in execution (PvE/Playstyle).
I’m also underdog when it comes to performance, by far, for picking something that spoke to me with their undead oxen mount and their zone was simpler for me to handle (Colorwise + how it’s shaped).

This combined with the soulbinds bringing so many different things, and then the troops/companions-mini game also performing differently, makes the whole system feel like a punishment to some of us, rather than joy.

I’m completing level 60 missions with night fae, nothing can stop the butterfly and his friends the Ardenweald trappers, doubt they’ll nerf any of this though because it’s side content, they do need to buff Kyrian though, my druids Kyrian and it’s crazy how weak the halberdiers are.

My companions are now level 12. Then i got some new companins from thorgast, but they are level 1. How to level those up without the level 12 also level up as the missons are for level 12…i assume the same companions level is important for higher level missons. I w2ould like to run missons for the level 1 only but no missons for those
