I’d love to play some races but the fact that their weapons change size so much depending on if they are sheathed or not (Goblins, worgen female etc) is really off putting when playing something like a warrior.
I wish that weapons would just stay a consistent size when they are both sheathed and unsheathed.
It’s not just small races, it’s very noticeable on Worgen female where the weapons are about 20% smaller on your back than when you have them out.
On Goblin and gnomes it’s even worse. If you make a trial character with a 2h sword or staff they grow insanely when you have them out rather than sheathed. It used to happen with belves and other races but they fixed it. I think it was originally to prevent clipping but it just ends up looking dumb.
It happens on all races to varying degrees, you can compare it yourself and see. Some races have it very obviously worse than others though - some weapon types suffer more as well. Crossbows are probably the worst for it. Most of those become toys when you sheathe them. It happens with Shadowmourne on Undead Males which is annoying, and that one also sheathes basically on your shoulder not your back as an Undead Male.
They said they were fixing a lot of this with specifically polearms but yeah, it’ll probably never be fixed.
Not all of them. Human male and females weapons stay the same, blood elf and void elf stay the same. AFAIK so do orcs, tauren and trolls.
They actually fixed most of the races so that they stay the same size, there’s just a few outliers they didn’t touch. Ironically Vulpera weapons stay the same size but Goblins (whose model the use) dont.
